Here's my story. I was driveing In Pollock Pine's, It was winter, but no snow. I was takeing this left, It was a wide left turn a little long too, Im rockin out to the music, Then, my 6gc just spins out, Now Im going side's down this turn, one side there a ditch, on the other...a cliff...Im trying to correct the turn and I look to the right...Two vans are comeing....."F@$!" Im gonna die!" I thought to myself, Then, the tire's caught and I rolled backward's Into the ditch, just In time. I was hella shakeing, I started her up again, and pulled out of the ditch and Into a flat area. Left her running got out of the car, still hella shakeing, lit a cigarette, and just looked at her. Man, that was some crazy **** that day.

Only time I can think of was the time I was driving this windy, 2-lane country road, at dusk where you know its dark enough to use your headlights, buts its not exactly dark enough for them to really see far ahead of you type dusk... lol
anyway, I was driving around this big bend, and around the corner was this big ass deer sitting right smack in my lane. I was doing like 10 over, and if I slammed the breaks I wouldn't stop in time, to the right of me was this big ditch/pond/swamp whatever and in the left lane there was oncoming traffic... I ended up swerving into the left lane barely missing the deer but good thing traffic wasn't too close or I would have probably either hit the deer or end up in water. scared the crap outa me though thats for sure lol This post has been edited by CelicaBuddy: Dec 5, 2007 - 7:30 PM -------------------- 2003 Nissan Murano SE |

I haven't had my celi long enough to have a really scary thing happen to me, but in my old accord I was drivin in some real heavy rain on teh freeway, the guy infront of me swerves onto the shoulder, and right infront of him was a dead-stopped car. I slammed my breaks but ended up plowing my car 100 feet into the median through mud and grass.

It was rainning really hard. Ran to my car stopped, slipped under my car, and keyed it. Not scary, but I get paranoid when stupid things like that happens, and that is scary haha.

havnt had my Celi long enough, although watching my mother back into it with her Van scared me because i thought i would have to kill her.
But when i had my Ford Probe i was driving over an overpass over i45 and Bay Area here in Houston. Now keep in mind i was 18, this was my first car and it had an 8 pound turbo on it that we had..... ajusted a little. and it was during the last winter it snowed down here and the roads iced over. I was leaving Dennys at like 4 in the morning cuz i like free refills and me and my friends are night people, heading back to my appartment. I go over the overpass and gun it a little to hard, then the spin began. I did 2 360s going down the overpass. after the last 360 the tires cought again and i rolled down the street like nothing happend. i drove home at like 35mph the rest of the way home doing turns at like 5 mph and riding the clutch to make sure that it gripped. scared the hell out of me. I would say thats when i started practicing things before i tried them in cars on roads |

In the line on scary and stupid things I have done as a driver there are 2 that are still fresh in my memory:
#1 being my trip to player158s house for the car meet a couple years back. It all began with a trip to Virgina... then we all started cruising. Not till I took a very formidable 90 degree turn sideways I realized that I perhaps do not need to follow the caravan going 50 on a winding mountain road. Skip ahead skip ahead 2 days later on the way back I decided to traverse that very same route again but forgot that you need to drive like 20 miles under 25mph speed limit there to stay on the road. So im going like 60 going up the hill almost reaching the crest. All of a sudden I hear vroooooooooooooooooooooooom as my gas pedal sunk, I saw the birds... I saw the trees then maybe a solid 2-5 seconds later I fall to the ground breaking all my suspension and well if you read my posts on these forums I pretty much destroyed the structural integrity of my vehicle. By my crude estimate I had to be in air for at least 100ft and dropped from at least 20 ft height as the mountain road went for a sharp 45 degree down slope. Needless to say my car stalled, my car slammed to the ground.. I cant turn, cand move. Had to walk for a mile to see a house, payed some guy to basically drag my car across the asphalt to a safer place. Cut 2x4s.. jacked my car up and placed them things in between what was left of my coils and body of car. I was determined to make it to work the next day so I drove to new jersey like that.. leaking many different fluids and probably hurting the car even more. #2 being stuck between 2 18 wheelers when they sandwitched me between themselved and we drove like that from exit 8 to exit 9a on i 95 in new jersey.. something like 20 miles. They did not hear my horn and neither saw me. I was pretty much stuck between where their trailer starts and right before rear tires with half of my car under each trailer. I was set free when one of them decided to switch lanes. Never in my life have I spent so much time trying to explain my coworkers why my roof was bent in, my pride hurt and I did not drive that highway again for at least 6 months. -------------------- Captain Pessimist

I had a similar experience! It just got done raining though so thats why I lost traction. I was on the highway and just exited off my exit to work. It runs straight, 45mph speed limit, and then goes into a giant loop to merge onto the main street. Well, speed limit says 25mph on that giant loop. I was rockin out too to the music and didn't notice how fast I was going. I then noticed something in the steering when my rear started to move by itself. I was going 50mph and started losing traction into oversteer! On one end was a giant slope that goes into a pond. On the other, is a giant slope that is a cliff. Mind I was driving uphill. I was counter steering like crazy and kept swerving left and right without traction because I was counter steering too much evertime becuz I was freaking out! Then I counter steered a little bit and let off the gas completely and then gased it again and got traction. I slowed down and my hands were shaking and I got scared. I rolled down my windows to catch air. That was like 2 years ago. Yeah, some crazy ars shiz.

We were on a countryside road, back from crabbing. I was 100km from home doing abt 150km/hr, my eyes was closing on me and it was pitch black...I think I went to lala land for a couple of mins and somehow I "woke-up" finding myself driving in the middle of the road.....there were two cars coming from the opposite direction...
So for the rest of of the journey I shoved two match-sticks between my eyes to keep my eyelids from closing... -------------------- 98% completion --- aaRon |

And THATS why they made that new law this year in FL stating that all trucks MUST be on the far right lane on I-4. Besides that, truckers are a nuisance here in FL. There are so many of them in the mornings till noon. They constantly block all the lanes. This post has been edited by FortuneCookie: Dec 6, 2007 - 9:38 AM |

I hydroplaned once, but that wasn't what got me. I'm a pretty decent driver (not trying to toot my own horn, I still wrecked) but as I was going through some major turns, my back tires gave way and I was pulling out of it pretty well. What got me was I hit a dry spot and I spun in the opposite direction. I could have gotten out of that as well if I hadn't went off the hill into someones front yard. I knicked a tree in doing so.
I was more mad than startled and was able to drive away. (stupid bald tires) This post has been edited by frosty: Dec 6, 2007 - 1:28 PM -------------------- CLOSED on 25 acres! -shop coming soon.... |

to answer the question above.. no i did not get anything out of the 18 wheeler situation other than a nasty 1500 repair bill.
In regards to driving in the snow and hydroplaning. Those are the 2 most coolest things you could ever do. No I dont mean go out and crash into things. I hydroplane to and from work about 3 out of 5 working days in summer cause Florida torrential downpours really really know when I get on the road. They patiently wait till I get onto route 39. While hydroplaning I usually just floor it cause you have 2 choises.. wait it out or dont turn and or slow down. I have about 10 mile stretch from work to first turn with low traffic so its actually pretty entertaining. Now driving in snow is the 2nd coolest thing that I will probably never do again now that I moved to Florida. I used to go into mountains on purpose to drive the living capow out of my celica. Just slap a couple of shains from home depot at a cost of 24.99 per set. x2 and wheeeeeeeeeee Thats actually how I learned to do donuts in a front wheel drive. Our celicas have so much oversteering that anything on ice and or snow becomes slip and slide. I also used to go to big parking lots and just side drift he he he. -------------------- Captain Pessimist
