Sup ppls? I've been on a maintenance kick for both mine and my girls celi's. so is it really necessary to remove the fuel rail to replace the injectors? i'm rollin on the good ol' 5sfe and my girl has the 7afe. I'm again venturing into areas that i haven't done before, atleast no on celi's, and haynes says remove the whole rail. looks like alotta work the to swap some crummy injectors. thoughts? comments? suggestions?

take off your valve cover...you can access the injectors from there...2 10 or 12mm bolts hold them, and 2 plastic spacers from the fuel rail to engine.

Just undo those bolts and pull the rail away from the head (watch the draining gas!). You don't have to disconnect it from the fuel line. As long as you keep that rail elevated, you wont lose too much gas and it will give you the space you need to pull those injectors out. they just pop right out for ya p.s. make sure you replace all those little gaskets up in there... -------------------- The question is not how far. The question is, do you possess the constitution, the depth of faith, to go as far as is needed? |

first, why would you replace the injectors ?
second, like nate said, just unbolt the 2 bolts holding the rail onto the head, then move it out of the way. Also, do not remove the fuel line from the rail. There is also the vac hose from the FPR that will need to be removed. Be careful not to drop the 2 black plastic spacers on the rail bolts, and the injectors will be accessable after you unplug them from the harness. -------------------- |
