I HAVE A 98 CELICA AND IT WILL NOT STAY IN THIRD GEAR AND WONT GO IN FOURTH GEAR... SO I ONLY HAVE 1ST 2ND AND 5TH. I WAS TOLD THAT IF IT GOES INTO ANY GEAR ITS NOT HTE CLUTCH... MY DAD TOOK IT TO THE TRANSMISSION SHOP AND HE WAS TOLD THAT EVERYTHING ALMOST LOOKS BRAND NEW... I DONT KNOW THAT WHOLE STORY ON THAT BUT IF SOMEONE KNOWS WHAT IT MIGHT BE PLEASE LET ME KNOW SO I CAN GET IT FIXED

i would check youe shifter cables first. make sure they're tight..

First, what trans shop in the News?

Second, why didn't the trans shop try and fix or at least diagnose the problem?

i dont know it was some of my dads work i had know say... but i think it was one of his friends that checked it out and he might have told him what it is or might be... my dad might not have wanted to spend his money but im about to get it fixed myself thats why i wanted to try to find out what it might be so i would have some kinda clue when i take it to the shop
