Hi all,
My '99 Celica has a key and alarm button thingy in 2 separate pieces. I used a Corolla last week for a day and notice it has the alarm buttons built into the base of the key. Fantastic idea!! How can one get this for an older Toyota (Celica) ? Is it possible ? Whats it called, so I know how to search for it. Thanks |

well... you would only be able to do it through the alarm company... they would have to give you blank key with alarm... then you cut out key... only way

The Corolla I was original key/remote button combo too. Maybe I need to speak to a Toyota parts dealer |

well... how old is the corolla compared to the celica? I seriously doubt that you can get it from toyota, but if you do will cost somewhere around 150... v'ws costs about 350 and Mercedec costs about 590 so goood luck.... and I know those numbers from expirence (all except celica)

i have that key with my celi, but it isn't programmed. instead of them just taking my key and programming it, they would need to look at the programming in my car and order a key. strange how they can't check the fob or the programming of the locks and just reprogram my key but they are out there.

Ok a bit confused there. So you have a key and remote access all in one ? but its not "programmed" and thus you cant use it ? |

the key isn't programmed correctly, but my key fob is, so the key works fine (to manually lock/unlock/start), just the buttons don't work.

You could probably get that option if you bought a new "fancy" alarm system.

Who would be able to program it to match your current alarm system ? A Toyota dealership ? |
