hello guys,
i saw this engine on ebay (motortimeusa) and wondering if you guys think it's a good deal.
They are charging $995 for the engine, $995 to remove old and install new one. The warranty is 1 year, unlimited mileage. They get their internal parts from TopLine. I never heard of TopLine. I think their website is www.TopLine.com. They pick up my car from my door and deliver back to my door. Work would be done in 7 days. I asked how I know if their engine is as good as Toyota's OEM. They said Toyota doesn't make their own parts either and Toyota purchases from manufacturers in Japan and they claim to do the same. Let me know if you guys think it's a good deal. Thanks.

(please scroll down the whole page. They have info the whole page.)

hey, personal experience, I bought my motor off eBay, and it's really been nothing but problems since I bought it. I've had to have gaskets replaced, and idle work done, and all this other crap, and it's not worth it. I feel like I would have been better off rebuilding the original instead of purchasing this one. I bought a 7A-FE, and I think the companies are different, but I mean that's just my experience with motors from eBay.

I've seen a few of thoes though about it but not worth it, its so much cheaper and easyer and safer IMO to get a used genuine celica motor with under 100k, I was priced $450 dropped off to my door for one with 96k miles, from a local yard.

while i'm sure toyota did get there parts via a contractor i'm sure they had close oversight on the construciton of them. not to say "top line" is crappy just another risk.

It should, that's not a 5sfe, the pics are of a 3s-fe.

I wouldn't buy from them.

Your point is?

Its a rebuilt motor that has not been used. Hence the 0 miles. Thats properly written otherwise it would state, rebuilt with XXX miles on it from use.
