use a check valve for your stock one so it doesn't see boost and if your doing piggy back just pick up a 3 bar gm map sensor. get em from a turbo suntbird in the junk yard. or use any 2 bar sensor that you can find.

look on mr2oc.com or ebay. youll find the sensor there.
dont ghetto rig it with a check valve.

i wouldn't consider it ghetto because a brake booster uses one.

and yes that sensor will work you just have to wire it properly pulling up the wire diagrams from both vehicles and you have to calibrate the sensor to your piggy back system.

PLEASE STOP MAKING SO MANY RANDOM THREADS AND USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION:

ok you want to know about the map sensor bar thing.

well there have been a couple people who have turbocharged their ST. First there is Doggy's turbo, then the most recent Stef's.

here is stef thread:

http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...p;hl=map+sensor

She used a toyota map sensor. If you look closely at the picture you can read out the part number. Take this part number to your toyota dealership and have them order it for you.

Now to clear out some confusion:
what does the map sensor do?
-It tells your car how much air is going inside the engine.

Why do you need to add a new one?
-because your regular ST sensor can not read boost. It simply can not see it. So it messes up how your engine runs and WILL result in a blown engine if nothing is done about it.

What is this check valve business?
IT IS NOT A FISH TANK VALVE.
IT IS NOT A FISH TANK VALVE.
IT IS NOT A FISH TANK VALVE.
IT IS NOT A FISH TANK VALVE.

- did i make that clear enough? should i say it one more time in caps? A check valve is a one way valve that lets air move in one direction. So in your case and by recomendations by others, the idea is:

YOu install a check valve to make sure your stock senser does not sense boost. therefore you will be ok.

i recomend you just buy the bar sensor that stef used.

any more question please post here!
