First, read all the threads listed in the sticky at the top of this section of the forum.

Then, read this thread:
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=45137

The short answer: The 3s-gte swap while remaining FWD is a well travelled path. The AWD swap is *very* difficult. It would be easier/better/safer/etc. to import a real complete ST205.

Unless you have a complete ST205 floorpan, rear strut towers, gas tank, fully front a rear suspension and many other parts, you don't have a complete ST20x -> ST205 swap...

The ST205 is *very* different than other Celicas.

why don't you import a GT-4 to your country ? it'll be cheaper / safer / easier than swapping / building a AWD car, you're not in US ( unless it's a typo ) so the GT-4 is probably legal in your country ( Costa Rica ) if you have all the parts as you say, just import a ST205 chasis and put the car together.

Yeah and sell me the 3rd gen complete swap for dirt cheap. wink.gif. From what Culp said the thing that should stand out is the word CHEAPER. Just import one into Costa Rico and You'll be good to go.

O yeah, plus unless you already have the gt-four front end conversion if you ship one in you don't really need any thing else.

2 things:

1. There is at least 1 imported GT4 in Costa Rica - my sister goes to school there and her roommates dad owns one. He says he'll let me drive it when I come down there to visit. [just haven't done it yet cause that's an expensive test drive. biggrin.gif ]
2. Not all GT4's are RHD. There are LHD ones that were originally for Germany and other European countries that are LHD.
So if there is no law against importing a car that is LHD but wasn't sold there - you should take the advice of the people above and just import one. There is so much that could go dangerously wrong with custom fabing the back end like that. I believe there was someone on here years ago that said his car pulled hard in one direction when he got above 60MPH.
Food for thought.
