your front brakes should be fine, but you can upgrade the rears. you can convert them to disc if you get the parts from a GT

I'm not sure about using rav 4 parts on the front, i know people have discussed this before

if you want a better front brake upgrade for your ST, go out and buy a set of ST186 calipers and pads off an older all-trac. They are a 2 piston design instead of a singel piston, pop on with no modification and provide better braking. It will probably cost u $200 to do it, compaired to paying how ever much it would cost to rig up and do the modifications to put a bigger caliper that doesnt fit on.

better braking? why go through all the hassle? i just put on some slotted rotors and ceramic pads and it brakes just fine. you may want to do a rear disk conversion though.
i just got my emissions and safety done yesterday and my cars braking power was almost perfect (atleast that is what the guy that performed the tests said.
now if you want bigger brakes just for the look then it's really a huge hassle. the only way you can really get the big brake kit look on our car is if you have the super strut suspension. (which only came on the gt-four and ssIII IIRC) and they tend to have some issues.
i guess you could go through all the work of custom fabbing something together but is it really worth all the trouble?

Looks like you have a 3s swapped car...well some might fine that the stock brake is sufficient but if you into safety (and you should since ur hp is almost double now) you might wanna consider the 205 brake conversion.. From what Ive seen the conversion involoves:

Machine down the discs to 300mm
Longer wheel studs
spacers behind the disc to bring to center with the caps
spacers on the wheel depending on offsets
shave the bottom ball joint..
Longer brake hoses

no.

do a full GT front and rear brake conversion, its the easiest way to upgrade your brakes.
do not get drilled rotors. the rotors for the Celica are too small to benefit from losing so much braking surface from all the holes in drilled rotors. IMO OEM pads and Brembo blanks are the best way to go and will give you the best braking power.

Tthe 185 2 pistons caliper is actually not as powerful as the 185 single piston which i think only avai in the group A or RC edition. Not worth it IMO.
