around 600-800 to install (estimated) depending on how much the kit has to be modified to fit the car. and with the kit...u get what you pay for.

If you look around enough you can end up gettin a deal for it. I got my kit installed and painted (with pretty dayum good paint) for about $450. If they weren't such dickheads I would go back to them but oh wells.

You say 600-800 to install.. does that include painting it? Do they just paint the kit parts to match your current color or like.. some of the car too? (cut you a deal for painting the whole car, etc)

Depends on the place. For my aunt getting a new quarter panel on her rustang, it was an extra 300 bux to paint the WHOLE car, rather then just the new peice.

600-800 sounds about right to get the kit put on and painted. Now if you want to do it right save up more and have the whole car repainted at the same time. It will make it look like a brand new car. But if you go that route be prepaired to pay upwards of 2K.

i saw a body kit on ebay that said it needed no modification to fit. i think it might have been a little used. but would that mean it would be cheaper to put it on?

ebay kits are a bit shady...if it fits perfectly, there might be somethin wrong with the quality like weak/thin fiberglass so just be careful

bottom line the cost of painting is proportional to the kind of hookups you got. if you know someone who paints cars for a hobby you're only paying for materials. where as if you take the car to a collision shop that only does bodywork you will pay out the ass. simple enough?
but yes, Oliver is right. 600-800 would be a good figure to shoot for. |

ok, i went to a motorsports shop and they said they can put on the body kit for like $100 and have someone paint it for like $2-300.
they also said its better to get the full body kit and just sell the back than get it piece by piece. (i have a coupe and dont want to put on the back) should i go for it or does that sound a little off? This post has been edited by 6gencelicasrule: Sep 11, 2003 - 6:02 PM |
