Hi everyone! Installed my Injen intake today. But, gotta few questions. On the directions it is talking about a "stock check valve", which was suppose to be on my old intake duct. When I looked at my old one, that hose wasn't there. There was a bolt covering it instead. So, I couldn't put that valve where I put the "blue question mark". Is it real necessary? If so, i'll go get one. Also, it mentions to plug the stock vacuum hose over the 3/8" nipple under the intake by the T/B. Is that where I put the "red circles"? The 2 red circles are the same line. it connects from T/B to the small diameter pipe under the intake. The "yellow line" is where the line used to be before the Injen. Please look into how I did it and let me know if it is correct. Also, does this intake just sit in there or does it require any other type of securing?

thanks a bunch.

yeah im not sure on how the gt fits up. >_< with my st i just used the little peice of tubeing they sent me and connected the 2 open nipples on the sri together since its built for a gt and not an st wasnt sure what to connect. but it does just sit there and its actually very stable if u feel its moveing a bit just push the cone down a little closer to the body and tighten the clamp around the throttle body and it shoudl hold it in place nice and secure. but it looks great and the sound when u rev is awsome that and the biggest plus is that its carb legal and around at least around here im safe from getting my car towed they r cracking down on racing stupid kids.

thanks. it was making a little noise, but now it's gone. What's the carb legal sticker? Is that where it just says Injen? Bought my from an open box special, so hope i'm not missing it.

you don't have to cap the nipple on the TB, you have two connections on the intake... you cap the nipple on the TB if you only have one on the intake (like cheap ebay ones)... just leave it just like you have it

today I felt the pipe of the intake and it gets pretty hot. At my work there is a insulation company usually on-site. I was thinking of having them fabricate a custom removable insulation blanket to reduce heat. i wonder if it would help.

thats the trouble with metal intakes, it gets the heat from the engine.

what you could do is put a heat shield along the intake piping?

but nice work thumbsup.gif what kind of whistle does it make?

i'm not sure if it's a whistle. it's more like a nice real deep tone when you accelarate hard. when you drive steady, sound just like before. so, i really like it. I feel a little difference on responsiveness as well.

just wanted to make a final comment about what i've heard so far:
1. cap all nipples on new intake, keep the hose going from valve cover to T/B
2. keep the way I got it.
3. keep the red hose the way it is and cap nipple on T/B.
so, guess i'll leave it the way it is.

Here is what I did with mine (5sfe)

I capped the one underneath (its just extra)
Then I went to Canadian tire and bought me a copper t fitting, I then used that to make a T so that it connects the factory tb, valve cover, and the new intake. You really dont need either fitting on the injen intake (stock doesnt have any). I just did it like that so every port had something on it (except for underneath).

So if I were you I would drive to Canada and find a canadian tire and buy a copper fitting and then drive back to your place and install it.

Seriously though just make sure you dont leave any port with nothing on it they should all be covered with something.

I put a breather filter on the nipple on the throttle body side, you mentioned to cap it, should I? I capped the hole on the side of the intake the one that is suppose to have a hose from the valve side. Reason why I did this is because there is already a hose from the valve side going into the TB side.

Anything wrong with my set up?
