Does anybody know if its possible to get an aftermarket AutoTransmission cooler? becuase i was thinking if overheated is the #1 cause of AutoTranny failure why not prevent this!
I was thinking of getting something liek an oil cooler and running it to my tranny but does anybody know of any particular line to run it off of, im not 100% of the oil lines with the transmission thanks guys -------------------- |

Far as I know, Celicas with an auto transmission have an oil cooler -- judging by the radiators, at least.

NOW the only problem with this especially with those of you that live in places that get COLDDD. You can't run just a huge cooler off your tranny, this was discussed not that long ago actually. to do it the right way, keep oil at operating temp but not allowing it to get too high. you need to keep the factory lines to the radiator. it acts as a cold morning warm up and a hot day cooler. keep the lines to the tranny, then run lines to your aftermarket cooler first, then to the radiator, then to the tranny again. also for your aftermarket cooler, put in a thermostat for it so its not overcooling your tranny and not letting it get to operating temp (bad shifting could result) -------------------- 94' ST Coupe - 5sfe Motor swap and brake swap.

i run a tranny cooler in my turbo set up , and i live in ohio where it gets cold but in the winter time the celica sets in a warm garage.... so i dont worry about the over cooling problem . it stays in when it is cold out.
