I have used struts sitting in my garage. They were 'ok' but i can't compare them to the ones i have now. So i don't know how well they are.

well, my 6th gen GT-S struts fit on my 5th gen GT-S. i'm not sure about ST however, but my guess is that they will work (ST and GT share the same type of struts). avoid using 5th gen alltrac rear struts because the two bolts that bolt the strut to the axle carrier are too close together.

yea, but as said, make sure not alltrac... easiest way is check out the hood, alltracs have a spoiler on the hood... I don't know much about them... and tbh I'm not even sure about the 5th gen since I've know that you cant pull breaks off them because the holes dont match up... and the breaks attach to the strut assembly

My car makes a thud in the rear on every bump too... I haven't had my struts looked at or anything but I was wondering, how do you know for sure if it's the struts and not the mounts? Or bushings? Or some other thing? Such as here: http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=45402&hl=

easiest way for you to find out... pull out suspension pull off spring and see if the shock saggs or if it comes up (real slow) my shocks were shot but I didn't get any noise... only way I found out was when I was replacing them, without the spring it went down
