and can I get a part number for Toyota plug wires? (7afe)

OR - which are the best plug wires to go with? I talked to a mechanic a few days ago who told me he's learned that Toyotas really like Toyota parts, so if I go w/aftermarket I wanna stay 5mm.

I got the NGK ones which work fine. staying small is the right choice, Toy's need their tiny wires.

Denso makes our stock wires, plugs and most of the electronic stuff of that nature on our vehicles. That being said Denso also make NGK and TRD so feel free to use these products as well. Your mechanic was right in that OEM stuff does seem to work better than parts store products. I personally always use NGK but I also get free products from them so...
Buy the NGK - best bang for the buck. wink.gif

I knew that about Denso, but didn't know they made the wires too. I have NGK plugs (LOVE 'EM!) and was originally leaning toward NGK wires, but figured if I was gonna spend fifty bucks on wires I might as well get OEM.

Looks like I was on the money. Doesn't happen often, but I sure do love it when that happens! Thanks, guys!

1 last question... Champion? The guy told me Champion makes the wires for Toyota but under a different label? Any relationship between NGK/Champion/Denso?

Yeah - I left them out for brevity but the guys I talked to in the tech dept at NGK said that Champion is the bottom of the QC ladder.

NGK makes the blue ones- I searched them on Amazon.com and got them for $40 ($23 less than stores had them for) and they arrived the day after I ordered them, even though I opted for the free standard shipping.

Here are the ones I got: http://www.amazon.com/NGK-TE41-Wire-Set/dp...6784&sr=1-1

OEM wires are made by Sumitomo

part number for the 7A-FE #90919-22327
(note: this is for a 97. I'm 98% sure there is no difference though)

They're a very easy swap. Just do them one at a time. Plug and play.

Plug wires for ST are in fact 90919-22327 (hurley97 is correct)
5S-FE is 90919-22370

Plugs
ST: BKR5EYA (NGK number, per Toyota)
K16R-U (Nippon-Denso)
5S-FE: BKR6EP - 11 (NGK number)
PK20R11 (Nippon-Denso)

Sorry to resurrect, but I didn't find the number anywhere and thought they'd be useful here.

What about some Nology Hotwires? Would this be a good upgrade with the Denso or NGK Iridium plugs or should I just stay factory? Also anybody had experience with the Pulstar plugs? Not sure if $100 for the Pulstars and $160 for the Nology wires are worth it.
