I thought it would be fun to share your favorite deli sandwiches and give people some ideas of new things to try. I looked around on the interweb for this but found zilch so I figure what better to post on 6gc.
My favorite is: Sliced buffalo chicken with pepperjack cheese, hot sauce and ranch dressing on a wedge, grilled. I think it's the best ever and you should all try it. -------------------- |

OMG!? A thread on sandwhiches!? This has got me posting again, just because I love sandwhiches, they are my favorite food of all time! !
Ok favorite deli sandwhich.. hmm. Damn dude, that grilled buffalo chicken sounds pretty good right now. My turkey swiss can't really beat that right now. Where do you get this buffalo chicken sandwhich from? Do you make it yourself? -------------------- |

They had a sandwich called the 3rd Degree, and it had turkey instead of buffalo chicken, the rest was the same. And so I just swapped it out. Post them up anyways and get some new ideas. -------------------- |

i have two.
1) roasted turkey, cheddar cheese, sprouts, tomato, and mayo on roasted red pepper bread...grilled panini-style. outta this world. i get them at a deli by my parents place. 2) it's from a pizza joint, hope it still counts! bbq chicken, red onions, fresh cilantro, tangy bbq sauce, and mozzarella on a four-cheese bread, baked in a wood-fired over. best thread in a long time. wait, now i want a sandwich. -------------------- do you know who i am, mr. worley? |

I'm eating mine as I type:
12" Meatball wedge with salami, pastrami, mozeralla, jalapenos and jalapeno jack cheese blocks [1/2" thick, one on each side!] and absolutely no mayo - ever. I fully identified with that mayo scene on undercover brother [except I'm white - I don't really think that's a black thing]. And before you say anything - yes I'm aware that's a pathetic excuse for a meatball wedge. You can't even find a real Deli in Houston, much less a real sandwich. Usually this place makes better ones but they must have had a new person today. The meatballs are bought, not made in house. They don't put enough sauce on it and the bread is plain old french bread. In fact I haven't had a real sandwich since I moved here from NY [except when I go back on business and then all I eat is deli/pizza places]. But noone makes a steak like Texas steak houses - Not Morton's, noone. So I can weather the change Supersprynt - your idea sounds incredible. I gotta find a place that will make it for me. Cool thread. Next time you get one I wanna see a pic so I can show these places what a real sandwich is made of. -------------------- ENGINE: '93 RC 3S-GTE/WRC CT-20b [18-20PSI] PERF: TRD/HKS/ARP/NGK/MSD/ACT/Blitz/STRI/APEX'i/TwosRus/GReddy/Magnaflo/KOYO SUSP: Tein/Bilstein/SusTech/ INT: SS-III SEATS/Toyota Hyper Sports EXT: WRC/TRD/404 Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them. Try the sandwich - it's not as hot as you might think - that's what all the cheese is for [kinda like the ranch in super's sandwich]. And yes - cheese is good and that yummy little pool of vitamin G off to the left that I happily mopped up with my sandwich. -------------------- ENGINE: '93 RC 3S-GTE/WRC CT-20b [18-20PSI] PERF: TRD/HKS/ARP/NGK/MSD/ACT/Blitz/STRI/APEX'i/TwosRus/GReddy/Magnaflo/KOYO SUSP: Tein/Bilstein/SusTech/ INT: SS-III SEATS/Toyota Hyper Sports EXT: WRC/TRD/404 Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them. Until u guys have tried a "Fat Sandwich" you havent had nothing. Those in Jersey know whats up and if you are from NJ and have never had one...then i cant really consider u a real Jerseyan. All kinds of fat sandwiches...
For example...Cheeseteak, mozzerella sticks, french fries, chicken fingers, in marinara sauce... mmmmmm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grease_Trucks http://www.sptimes.com/2005/11/04/images/l...NJDH10_1104.jpg Fat Cat, Fat Elvis, Fat Sam, Fat Moon...etc. Some places if you can eat like 5 of these sandwiches within a givin time, they'll name one after you but its nearly impossible to do. how about a nice french bread with beef smothered in cheese with lettuce and tomatoes a lil southwest sauce wrapped in a flour tortilla filled with refried beans wrapped in corn tortilla with monterey jack cheese then with a gordita bread wrapped around that with guacamole which will then be wrapped in a corn husk filled with pico de gallo and further wrapped ina crepe filled with sausage and mushrooms and then wrapped in an all meat chicago style pizza wrapped and finally wrapped inside of a blueberry pancake which is then deep fried, added to a to go bag filled with vegetarian chili sauce!

Give me EC sandwiches, pizza and dogs anyday. Also Tx steak and Tex-Mex over any other place in the world.

Does this really count as a sandwich? I don't know... but I'm in a breakfast mood still so I'm gonna go w/a toasted Sesame bagel w/a schmear and sizable portion of lox. It is one of my all time favorite things to eat.
Lunch-wise, when I lived in NYC I used to get roast beef w/melted havarti, tomato, mustard & mayo on a Portuguese roll. God I miss that sandwich. 9 years in the PNW and it has yet to be rivaled. The West Coast just doesn't know jack about deli food. -------------------- |
