so i'm happy to be driving to bestbuy to check out some xbox360 stuff (perhaps a present for v-day from my gf) and as i'm on the freeway i see a huge something fly at my windshield.

game over.

two footlong cracks, a 10inch long crack that looks like snaggleteeth, and two lil epicenters where the glass looks almost shattered. i'm amazed my windshield stayed intact.

well, looks like i'm gonna be wanting something else besides an xbox 360. frown.gif

:sadpanda:

will post pix later as i am at work.

Holy crap, you're lucky that the windshield didn't shatter all over your face while driving especially you're on the freeway too so you probably were driving at like 60mph.
But yeah, similar incident happened to my brother's GSR Integra, he was drivin on the freeway and oen of those trucks that holds those sheets of plywood, one of them fell right off the truck and there were two cars behind the truck on both lanes and my brother behind those two cars....the sheet of plywood comes flopping all over the air and the two cars in front are swirving like mad then BOOM my brother takes the hit and tears the fender internally and cracks the bumper (fibreglass bodykit) a bit and gashes the door.

could've been worse but like you, he got lucky. Good to see that you're OK though. And just windshield damage, should cost you approx 3-400 for a new one.

Got mine replaced for 140 installed. Found a guy off craigslist in SF to do it. So shop around, it shouldn't be that expensive.

Man...it's been a bad month for us 6gcs...

skip the junkyards. there are auto glass places that should be able to do it for about 200bucks or less.

heres the trick of the trade....get behind a tractor trailer...write down their phone number and call them up...tell them what happened(a rock kicked up from underneath one of their trucks and hit your windsheid and cracked it to the point where it wont pass inspection) they will pay for everything
