The security lock mechanism is giving me some trouble. I used it today and notice that I could turn it to the left easily and lock so no one could use my trunk release mechanism to open it. But after my college class, I couldn't get it to open... My boyfriend shacked the key and all and after a while it turn back to the right and opened. What is wrong with it and how can we fix it? thanks

the boot lock it self is the mechanism. You turn it to the left and pull out the key and the lock stays to the left and no one can open the boot by using the remote release on the driver side front floor next to the door. You turn it back up and you can release the boot with the remote release and turn it to the right again and you can open the boot.

Just for clarification purposes... a boot can be called a trunk.
