I'm getting ready to rebuild my 7AFE motor so that it will be back to brand new basically rather than just replacing one thing that's wrong with it. I found this rebuild kit on eBay for cheap and I'm wondering if anyone knows anything at all about this company or what the deal is. It almost seems too good to be true. The link will be at the bottom of this post. I'm also wondering if boosting the rebuilt 7AFE motor will be safe or not. I'm going to be using it as a daily driver and don't wanna boost the hell out of it and blow it, but I'm wanting it to be a little quicker. A motor swap and tranny swap are not in the question, I'm just wondering if boosting this motor is worth it or not and if the rebuild kit isn't worth it. Thanks!

Those pictures are generic. I would imagine this is just a cheap aftermarket kit... and remember... when it comes to heavy work such as a rebuild... do you want to do it cheap and then have to redo it again? Or do you want to do it right the first time?

What kind of rebuild you doing? That kit doesn't include water pump, tensioner or valve stem seals. Also the bearing sizes depends on the machine stamped codes from your engine.

www.1sttoyotaparts.com usually has very good prices on that kind of stuff. BUT wait, they are in Washington. So if you want it quicker than 5-8days put all the stuff you need in the e-cart, and print the page listing the prices and take it to your local toyota dealership and ask them to match it.

I've done both, and we're roughly ABOUT the same distance from washington. Some packages took 2 days, others 10 - it just depends i guess.

That guys too shady. I wouldn't even buy from him.

Usually the stuff comes in a box thats wrapped and ready to go not in pieces. Besides who ever sold straight flat top pistons b4?

Do you really need new pistons? Rings would do the job, unless the ones you have now are really worn out chipped or warped. Most of the guys Ive seen just replace the gaskets and some of the bearings mostly the essentials.

Might want to get ur head shaved. (No not the one on your shoulders)

I realize an engine swap is not an option right now, but have you considered just a straight up engine replacement? I honestly would think that if you can find a 7AFE remotely around your area, it would cost less to drop in another 7AFE than rebuild your existing one. Mind you a rebuild establishes new history for you with the engine, but if money is a factor, you really would be better off IMO replacing the engine than rebuilding it with lower quality parts that won't be reliable. A used 7AFE should go for less than $500 (I believe mine was bought for like $350 from a yard). Replace the gaskets and ALL of the belts though.
