Hello everyone! i was wondering if anyone knows anything about the 2.0 3sfe engines. i just bought a 1994 gt and to my surprise it doesnt have a stock engine. I first noticed this when the block said 2.0 16v and the intake manifold said 2200. weird....anyways its got the 2.0 jdm engine with the 2.2 intake and stuff. the guy i bought it off of drove it with no oil and now the engine is seized. (sad.gif) I have a couple of questions now, i am going to rebuild it, but where can i find gaskets and pistons from for that engine. whats compatible? apparently the intake manifold gasket at least. Also the engines got a smaller bore on the pistons compared to the 5sfe, like .04 but i heard its got alittle more hp. So, Does anyone know where i can get gaskets, pistons, water pump, clutch and a timing belt from? Would the older 89-91 3sfe parts work? this car has the same exact engine as mine and its 1995 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...bayphotohosting
and this is the engine http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/89-96-Toyot...bayphotohosting[/url] i am dying to figure out where i can find a rebuild kit for this engine. THANK YOU FOR READING THIS!! Dave

why not just swap in a new motor? you could probably find a 5sfe for pretty cheap or even another 3sfe.
welcome to the site

if it's a JDM, are you sure it's not a 3sGe?

first off, thank you both for the quick response! The reason why i want to rebuild this engine is plainly for the shear fact of knowing its clean and refreshed. You never know what inner condition your engine is in when you buy one from the internet. And to tell you all the truth, i am assuming its a 3sfe because of all the research i have done. the late 3sfe looks just like my engine, even down the to value cover. I wouldnt think it would be a 3sge because that engine looks totally different. My engine still have the original 5sfe intake manifold and stuff. only the 3sfe block and head. Please let me know everyone! thank you all! Oh and thanks for the welcome!

the 3sfe also came in later rav4s, I would guess that they put one of those in there. Search around for rav4 info, you probably find some.

true true, you think that rebuild would work? if you click on the links on my forum it show both the kind of engine it is, and a stock celica from the UK that has that motor in it. a man by the name of "fran" rebuilt a 92-96 3sfe. i was looking at his posts. he hasnt gotten back to me yet, i asked him where he found a rebuild kit.

well my engine bay looks like a 5sfe engine bay. its once had a 5sfe back when it was stock. the engine in it looks like http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/92-95-TOYOT...bayphotohosting and its says 2200 on the intake manifold because the 5sfe intake manifold is compatible with the 3sfe along with the headers. This UK celica has the same engine in it, stock, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...bayphotohosting

Hi
I PM'ed you the part numbers for the engine rebuild kit. If you need something else just give me a list of what you need and I will post the part numbers.
You can order everything you need from a toyota dealer or some other place that carries toyota parts.
