Okay; this may or may not have been answered in a previous post (sorry if it was) but i've been looking for an answer sense last night without any luck.

My situation here is that, i've got to replace my fuel pump. I have a tear in the diaphram it would seem. However i'm buying up some performance parts; but not installing yet. Hoping to do something more extravagant soon. So the point is that: Would a 'Walbro GSS-342' fuel pump work fine with my stock setup? Or would i have to have something set to OEM specs as not to cause damage?

what does it flow lph. the flow is controlled by the ecu and the injectors. under heavy load the ecu supplies more power to the fuel pump.

if your not planning on swapping or turboing very soon, a walbro 190gph pump will be MORE than enough.
hell, the 190 is enough for a low boost setup as well.

RJ, the flow is controlled by the fuel pressure regulator, the ecu just controls injector opening times.

I know the 3sgte fuel pump works partly the way Rj said. but most people myself included ditch the pump resistor box that would regulate the voltage.
so hes not entirely wrong.

Thanks guys!!

But it would seem that my wife (of all people) has beaten everyone. She ordered in a stock pump for me via O'Rilley, yesterday while i was at work. I'm surprised that she knew my engine specs. But then again; as much as i talk about it! lol. Ya'll don't get jealous now! lol.

looks like i'll be buying double soon though...

He is going turbo soon he says [just in the research/parts buying phase]. So are you saying he could get a pump that would work for low boost application and stock? It makes sense to me as the regulator controls the pressure and the injectors control the output but I'd like to know for myself and to help him as well.
