soo... as posted in the gen. discussion forum, i got into a bad car accident...pics are posted in it
heres teh link... http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...54981&st=20 some people responded in it saying i should go to a junkyard look for a spare door, cuz popping it out might not work well....soo as of right now im just looking for some help and suggestions, its kinda ****ty outside so im keeping the car in the garage so avoid any more weathering on the body... so...practically my drivers side of teh car looks all banged up from front to back... thers a dent on top of the rear fender and on teh front and the door, thats where the damage pretty much is i still havent had teh chance to go to any body shop to get any estimates on repair cuz of of school, parents are willing to pay to fix it, but trying to find maybe a different maybe cheaper way instead of throwing down money for a body shop...just trying to explore other possibilities thanks inadvance -------------------- '95 Celica ST Coupe. trust me when i tell you!
just buy a door and fender. new or used sure they could be fixed but the way the damage is toward the corners youd be better off with a replacement IMO |

If you want to save time and money a used door and fender would be better then trying to fix it or have a auto body shop do it. At least you didn't get hit in the quarter panel like me you can't replace that I'm gonna have to shell out 1k+ to get it fixed and repainted......

I work in a bodyshop. Get yourself a used door. It's not practical to repair that. It would be cheaper to replace it and a better job in the end. The way I see it, if it's a bolt on panel, replace it. With a quarter panel I would repair it where possible.

i was looking at 1st toyota at the door price and fender price, and i noticed that they have teh outer panel of the door for sale, so would it be possible to just buy that and replace teh outer panel( i know there might also be internal damage to the door).

Have you tried sourcing a door at a junkyard or pull apart place? Also look in the for sale section and see if anyone is parting out a celi that will ship a door to you. Things to keep in mind for the door internals are is the window unit broken (will it roll up and down) and are the wires to the mirror and speakers shot. How about the locking mechanism is it in working order? All things to consider before you just replace the outside of it.

yea ive emailed a few junk yards and went to a near by one, didnt have any 6g's, internals are in good working condition everything still works window moves, the only prob with the window is the dent prevents it from going all teh way down so window mechanism might be the only problem other than that everything else working
