Since ive put a spoiler on i think the weight of it is too much for the hatch supports... and it wont stay up when you open the hatch. is there any way to strenghtn/tighten the support "things" so they can handle the extra weight and stay open. thanks

yep, you need stronger hatch struts... but if your celica had a stock one they should be strong enough for any spoiler you put on it.. unless they've gone bad..

I put on a Z-Glide style after my stock one was ripped off by someone.. and it held fine.

you know, there are aftermarket hatch struts available as OEM replacements.

here, they're like $30

i paid $68 on ebay for a new set for mine. they work well, but for how long? who knows..

i checked at my local auto parts store, they wanted 45 each. So for a pair it would costed me ~$90.
