OK so it wasn't on the Celi, but my Pops ran ova a deer the other day in the Sienna Van. Luckly the crash bar in the front saved the radiator and engine from total damage. The hood and headlight on the other hand wasn't too lucky.
For most of you guys that ditched ur bar for the looks of tat body kit. Hopefully you wont suffer too much damage or none in the near future. |

I've always said this - and now I have a car without a bar. I'm gonna make sure that's the next maintenance I do.

I'm running without a crash bar, but rarely drive it. But it isn't a chnace for me to take. I guess when I have time, I'll modify the crashbar to fit with the gt-four bumper.

Definatly. My GT4 bumper has been decorating my back garden for ages now because I want to fit it properly, with a useful crash bar. Good news is that I'im picking up a gt4 crash bar and brackets on Saturday.

I was offered £130 delivered from a breakers, but the deal I'm now doing is with a celica-club member for £80, + petrol money to meet up and collect. How much are you paying for these parts in the US?
There's this guy in England who imports GT4s, drives them round for a few weeks then breaks them up for parts. Perhaps there is a market for this over there? |

There is always a market for GT4 parts here. I would say that you should check with Toyota World here in Houston and see if your guy can undercut the prices on popular parts by enough that even with shipping to NA it would still be cheaper and you could still make a profit. Might have yourself a good little business right here if you tried. -------------------- ENGINE: '93 RC 3S-GTE/WRC CT-20b [18-20PSI] PERF: TRD/HKS/ARP/NGK/MSD/ACT/Blitz/STRI/APEX'i/TwosRus/GReddy/Magnaflo/KOYO SUSP: Tein/Bilstein/SusTech/ INT: SS-III SEATS/Toyota Hyper Sports EXT: WRC/TRD/404 Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them. Why would he part out perfectly good working GT4's when there are so many people world wide that want one so bad? That's exactly what I thought when I found out, but it seems the component parts of a GT4 are worth considerably more than the car itself. Well, if anyones interested I could send out the GT4 crash bar and the two brackets to the USA for £250 ($485, the exchange rate isn't good for UK -> USA trade) (subject to the parts weighing what I guess they do, will stick them on a scale this weekend) GT4 bonnet and bumper would be too large to send. If you're after any other GT4 bits, I can quote for you. Addition: This can only be stock GT4 parts that will be sitting on the cars at the breakers. Also big things are out, like bonnets and bumpers. I don't have any ties or contacts so I can't get cheap stuff, just what will be at the breakers yards. You might should start your own FS thread in the B/S section. I bet you could make some good mod money at least.

Yes and No..."No" cause I feel bad for you guys not getting the GT4`s and can fully understand you wanting to get as much of a GT4 as possible, and "yes" because your using up GT4 parts on cars that will never be GT4`s whch is a bit of a waste really. Concider this though...just imagine all the GT4`s we rob from Japan...not just parts but whole cars........thousands upon thousands of them. i guess Toyota made enough to go round. |

I've always wondered that. The way I see it is most of the new Toyota parts bought up by you guys are body parts, which we can easily get from breakers over hear. The parts that would cause problems if they were used up becuase 2nd hand doesn't cut it, such as super strut suspension parts, brake parts and the like are not used because they can't be fitted to the STs and GTs. |

Some of us have the engines and turbos too Personally I like having the same power but considerably lighter. All in all I think the homemade GT2 is a great car in and of itself - you GT4 guys might be surprised at how well they perform. IMO if you don't have the engine you should not have the badges - but any body work you do that uses OEM parts instead of aftermarket ugliness makes you tasteful in my book. Sorry - I just can't stand 90% of the non OEM body parts out there. Unfortunately I have never had the pleasure of seeing a GT2 perform...there are virtually non in the UK, but I expect with equall BHP the GT2 would be faster, but from a standing start a GT4 would have a considerable advantage until about 30mph when that advantage would be offset by the extra weight. But show both cars a set of twisty countryside roads then I think the GT2 wouldnt be able to keep up. I`d like to have a go in one to compare the difference, but unless one of you are kind enough to let me have a go in one of youe GT2`s next time I am in the States, then I probably will never experience one. |

Invitation extended. I'm ST-185 tho so I'm already at a disadvantage. Yeah - I used to own a 4th gen GT2 and my buddy owned a 4th gen All-trac and we used to go to meets together. [When my car was running right ] my car would eat him on the launch and his car would literally drive circles around mine on the turns. The 6th Gen is a lot better balanced than the 4th tho so IDK.
But please feel free to look me up next time your in Tx.
