Yeah i think that's about it. I am a chef (in my free time) and if you're gonna attempt a lobster bisque you better know what you're doing cuz its so easy to mess that stuff up. And if you can make a lobster bisque that can put mine to shame then you need to leave him and come down to Texas asap. I've done it before Idk it was pretty damn good :-P QUOTE(playr158 @ Feb 13, 2008 - 10:04 PM) :woot: go Tina on cooking...I vote steak and lobster bisque... i'm baking cheese cake right now, i got 6 choc. covered strawberries in the fridge, & a box of truffles around here as well. now lets hope the flowers arrive on time tomorrow and i'm golden  I think that's what i'm going with Dan when i get home from work i'll do chocolate covered strawberries for my g/fs. btw HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!

I am, as usual, broke as a joke. And so's my g/f. I don't know what she's got planned for me, she's been unusually quiet about today so it's anyone's guess... but as for me, I've tapped into that really expensive-ass piece of paper that says Fine Arts Degree on it (that very same piece of paper that is currently prohibiting me from enjoying any tax-return action) and made a whole bunch of origami hearts and wrote little love notes on it then scattered on the bed for her to find when she gets home from work before me. I totally don't suck at cooking, so I think I'll spend some quality time at work attempting to make origami roses and present them to her when I get home tonight, and then cook a nice dinner. I'm thinking salmon.

my gf's birthday is tomorrow so I feel you shin. Taking my gf to a nice seafood/steak place on the beach and got her orchids for today( her favorite flower), and a necklace for tomorrow with some homemade cake.
I've noticed that even if what you do for her doesn't turn out right, it's the thought that counts. If you make her dinner and it makes you both want to lick your toilet, she'll still be happy you tried and you'll laugh about it afterwards. I hope everyone has a happy valentines day! |

Flowers........$40 Dinner.....$90 Movie........$25 Drinks......$50 Hotel..........$115 The look on his face when you tell him you're on your rag...............Priceless (My fav thus fare) At any rate. me and my wife are broke, so im waiting till Saturday after i get paid and we going to get Star Pizza( for all you houston people, its good stuff) and then Ice Cream at Amys Ice Cream(Also good stuff in houston). Also we dont have the child to tag along with us so that also a plus. other then that im going the easy route. Chocolate. the romantic thing doesnt work on her though. Paper Hearts would just make her mad because we would have to clean it up later besides, when you have a kid, and you get a break from them, you really dont want to do the romantic thing. you want to go home and take your frustrations that that child presses upon you everyday by.........having angry mommy and daddy time |

not to toot my own horn but BEEP BEEP my lobster bisque was amazing! :-D
I've never cooked so many things at the same time, it wasnt that hard because my dad installed another oven in my kitchen. I didn't realize the lobster had to go in the pot with the water, white wine and fish stock while it was still alive, so i was sad when i had to do that... i got over it fast because Larry was delicious. When i got home from work there were roses all over my room, boxes of candy. There was a note that said, "I love you but your room is messy maybe you should make your bed." Under my pillow was a box with this in it. Then he did the dishes :-P. I wish i took a picture of how the table was set it was so pretty with my roses and little heart shaped candles. -------------------- Buy my Celica $2,500 - http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=76562&st=0

She loved the origami hearts I left for her and like last year, I bought her a living plant because I kinda like the idea of giving a plant that will continue making flowers rather than giving flowers that are gonna die. When we moved into our house, she really started wanting a flowering fruit tree, so last year for V-Day I got her a weeping cherry tree (that looks great in our yard and is doing splendidly, I might add!). Yesterday I got her, I don't actually know what the hell it is, some kind of flowering hydrangea-looking plant. She got me a single red rose, a fabulous variety of really good dark chocolate, and took me out for dinner.
But still, if I could have, I'd have done the fabulous-jewelry-under-the-pillow trick. That's awesome. So now I'm just gonna do it at some random, non-holiday time when I can afford it. -------------------- |
