if you mean tap them into your headlight switch so when you turn your headlights on you cant....the wires have to touch eachother each time you want to turn them on...you need to run the switch they give you...or you can buy a smaller/less notciable one like i did and mount it almost underneath the steering coloum plastic..that goea round the steering wheel...kinda sucks but its the only way to do it

but when i put the switch back in the equation the switch doesnt work...

all i can get out of them is the blink caused by grounding the wires that go to the switch???

ive never had any problem with wiring anything, but these are confusing me...

where should i pull the juice from to power them?

you tap into your power wire for your dimmier switch...pull that plastic covering off and there should be a group of wires...find the one that gets power and splice your power into that....then just find a good ground for your ground wire

but cutting the wires to the switch and then powering the gauges and grounding the switch wires....would that have damaged anything?

na just make sure you tape it up...when you splice it...you just cut the rubber back but make sure you dont cut through the wires...usually you use wire cutter but if you dont have them just use like a razor blade or a sharp knife and just be carefull with it....then twist them together and get some electrical tape and wrap it up real good so it doesnt come apart....you should be fine and as lo ng as you hook it up to power you wont damage anything
