To bad, atleast you still have a fastback to play around with smile.gif

Best of luck trying to figure out how to get your money back.

Don't try to get your money back, because you won't. You will never get what you put into it. What YOU think your car is worth isn't what others see. I say keep it. And when extra funds come in do a little here and there and try to get that bad boy running. Unless you are desperate and need the cash you'll have to settle for less. Which is what I advise you not to do. The car is getting done right and keep it that way. It doesn't matter how long it takes to finish it if you ever finish that counts.

MadScientest--Things get tough for us sometimes.More for some than others.Your project sounds GREAT!! I've had a few classics, muscle, and now working on a celica & a street machine. I understand what you mean by shelving something for awhile; I wish you BEST OF LUCK & would like to see the grand showing some day!! HANG IN THERE!!!

hey, at least you got the RHD and 4wd swap close to completion which were the most difficult steps. i'm willing to bet you'll gain that interest back once you put the engine and transmission back in, put the body panels on, and start driving it again... but yea, you may not get your money back but it's much worse to leave it hanging forever and never be able to potentially sell it... there's not much value in an unfinished car. but anyways i hope to see this project completed some day... best of luck.

As of right now I have 10k in it as it sits. If you think I fail I DON'T CARE, just because its not finished DOES NOT mean it never will. Because you think I fail, I will never share pics of the finished product.

Well I hope for the sake of the community this isnt true. The majority of 6gc was really keeping an eye on this thread due to the chance of a possible AWD setup for our USDM Celicas. Finances are a problem for most of the countory/world right now....so if you have the means of putting the car away for a while until things pick back up for you, that would be the best bet. I hope to see this thread start up again in the future......GL with everything man, keep your head up.

Sorry, I lost interest in this project due to lack of money.

I havent been following this thread as closely as I probably should have, so sorry if Im not aware of everything thats going on...
Anyway, thank your for documenting your progress. The more attempts we have at these conversions, the better. It only allows all of us to learn more as a community. Hopefully you will pick the project up one day and continue to document it.

I decided to tinker on it a little bit and work on some of the things that need to be done but don't cost money.
Like the right side motor mount (ST to GT), Moving the windshield wiper motor to the other side, and fabricate
the brackets to hang the gas tank.

Sorry but I'm not building any more crossmembers they are a pain.

why wouldnt you build any more? being a welder my self i dont under stand the big deal if you already have the templates made?? thats the hardest part man....as long as yea run nice welds and keep it square your good to go! as for the project, great build thread, im sad to see it come to a hault like that man, same has happened to me..havent been able to start my swap yet....but i really think you should start making some money doing something you said you love to do and help out your fellow 6gc friends.... at 500 a set thats reall good for both ppl.....also glad to see you didn't totaly give up on the project and doing cost effective things that are easy on the wallet.....best of luck on the job hunt man....iv been outa work since august....really sucks cause id have the car paid off and swapped by now if i was still employed

i really think this would be a great idea...to help people out when they are hurting, because everyone knows the feeling of having no money and just wanting their car done. if everyone chiped in a min of $2 and a max. of $10 it would help people out who are going to use the money honestly during a build. i think every month there should be a new person to dontate $$ too to help for parts for the car. i mean if you think about it, eventually it will get back to you. what the hell is $5-10 bucks anyway? espically when your helping out a fellow 6gc member. the only rules and regulations would be to show what exactly you are speing the money on, recipts for proff, and the finished project...i dunno just my .02 but i think its a great idea...i was actually going to ask for a donation going through my swap but didnt have the balls to do it.

on another note...i dont mean to jack the thread, but its looking good so far. im really anxious to see this thing done. another gt-4 in the states would be nice
