Yeah - it's gone bro. See the wrinkles all the way up to the doors? It's over for her. Edit: By this I meant the insurance will total her - not that you can't get her fixed up]
I'm so sorry about you're loss. I just lost one too about 2 months ago.
But cheer up - there are several swaps here for sale, maybe one that's near you. I feel much better with boost's shoulder to cry on biggrin.gif
You'll find another one - at least get a GT Manual this time

1. does the door close without a problem

2. does the hood latch, or at least aligns?

reason being, if your frame is bent, you are out of luck, otherwise the windshield, fender, headlights and crashbar can be found from anybody parting, or ebay.

cant really tellthe condition of the frame.

Damn Due! Hope your okay!! & your passager too!

As for the car, you need to check the frame. Insurance people will total it. I'm pretty sure of that. But they'll offer to let you keep it for a few hundred less payout.

If the frame; is good (Maybe, BC you have that crash bar in place) and most all your stuff is in good shape, it may be worth keeping. Obviously the bumper and both fenders are gone. Rip em off and throw em away. But if the frame is still in good shape; then you've got a fixable car myfriend!

Mine looked almost that bad when i bought it; and it gets prettyer everyday!

But if you do throw it away... Can i have your manual transmission and all parts associated so i can do a swap?

It all depends on who you know. I totalled my celica when a tundra hit me, same kind of damage. Both airbags, windshield, fenders, bumper, all busted up. Frame was bent. However I know a guy that can rebend the frame assuming its not too badly bent and he rebuilt my entire front end and reinstalled both airbags (without paint) for 2600.

For technical insurance purposes, the car is totalled, as its repair costs exceed the value of the vehicle, plain and simple.

The question becomes, do you want to fix it and sell it eventually for whatever you can get for a salvaged title? If it were my car, I think I'd take what the insurance company was offering, part out this one (the parts are ALWAYS worth more than the whole) and buy a Fresh New Start.

Haha, that seems to be the vulture mentality. Not picking on you d-man, everybody does it. I just can't help but notice that when someone totals their car, the inevitable outcome comes around.

I'm just waiting on the insurance estimate and I'll decide from there but yeah I'm quite sure they're going to say its totaled.

Do your own homework too - check KBB.com and be ready to call BS when they lowball you [they will]. You can usually get another 10% out of them - I did.

Wow what ended up happening?

Honestly, unless your frame is bent badly this doesnt look bad at all...

If they did total it i hope your smart and keep it, and do the repairs. When the b*tch hit our 240SX, it ripped the body mount outta the floor, the quote to get it repaired was just under 4000. What doesnt make sence to me is that we got 4400 for it....so why didnt they fix it? beyond me...lol BUT im glad they did we were in the nist of selling the car for (2300 without subs or rims) and we got 4400 and kept the subs and rims so were happy cause we also bought a celica!!!

it dont look like much to fix but im nto there to inspect it and see what exactly damaged.

How did this happen anyways?

And we all wanna know if she wrote or not... frown.gif i feel the pain man i feel the pain....

Yeah what did happen with your car?

Am i going to get the transmission? tongue.gif I'll give it a good home, and "i promise to love it and swueese it and pet it everyday, jorge" laugh.gif (loony toons ref.)

And if you get enough for it, you could always buy a new celi! Or if you wanna repair that one; or in the process ( frown.gif 4me) I'll help ya out in anyway i can. You'd be surprised the deals that you can find if you look hard enough. biggrin.gif

does it still start up without any problem?
is the frame majorly bent?

idk, looks like you could fix it up with junkyard parts and such without paint for around a grand.

that is what i'm doing with mine since i crashed tongue.gif

insurance will total it. airbags going off, regardless of damage usually throw out a flag. when they give you an offer for your car and it's too low, look up others for sale similar year and mileage. usually they will come back with a counter-offer. then buy your car back and use the money to fix it as long as the frames still solid. good luck and keep up posted.

Your accident looks almost identical to the damage compared to my Saturn when I crashed it. I got about 6400 for it when i wrote it off to the insurance company and bought myself a celica.
The damages aren't too bad, however, i don't know anyone who are selling their airbags and if you go to dealer, aren't airbags really expensive?!
Anyway I say write off your celica to insurance and your car's a 97 so you'll probably get like 4gz for it, and you can find another celica for about 2gz (if ur lucky) but about 3gz.
I remember looking in Toronto, Ontario, and I saw 94-96 celica's going for 2500 just peeking at the 200 clicks

^airbags from dealer are expensive, but it's the sensors i believe that hurt the wallet the most. that's why most insurance companies rather give a lump sum for the car as compared to paying for the damages(which end up totaling more then its worth).
