So I got the Samsung galaxy s4 active its on Att. I love the phone but somehow I cracked the screen.I'm not even sure how it happened. Of course I don't have insurance and since it's so exclusive there are no parts available. It will be $200 to send in and wait to have it repaired I think I haven't called yet. Someone offered their sony Xperia z for a straight trade would you do it? Everything does still work on the phone it's just visable annoying.

For a straight trade, I would. I mean, I'd hate to keep using a phone with a cracked screen and the Xperia Z is not that bad of a phone.

I googled S4 glass replacement in New Jersey and got quite a few hits for aftermarket cell phone repair shops which can replace the glass. You're lucky, if everything works then the LCD is undamaged -- this seems to put the glass replacement at $120-$150.
If you like the phone, the question is whether the difference between a Sony Xperia Z and an S4 is worth the cost. The Z is outwardly quite similar to the S4, though lacking in processing power and battery life, and of course the skins on the Android OS are different. |

Oh, that sucks. Odd that the Active uses Gorilla Glass 2, while the standard S4 uses the tougher Gorilla Glass 3. The lesser screen and camera quality I can understand as cost tradeoffs for the water- and dust-resistance.
Cute marketing on the S4 Active. Commercials show it being used underwater, and even tout the Aqua-mode for photography while swimming/splashing around. Not mentioned: water damage is not covered under the warranty. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=playe...p;v=smaBv2CL3YY This post has been edited by Galcobar: Aug 1, 2013 - 6:50 PM |
