i'm not an expert by any means on this subject, but isn't the CT26 turbo the one that comes stock on the 3sgte? and doesn't the supra come with a twin turbo or something? i'm not sure if i trust what this guy is saying, his english is kind of shotty and it's a little weird that he wanted to keep the turbo for so long without selling it sooner...
but like i said before, you should get another opinion as well as mine |

yes, that is the ct-26 turbo, it will bolt up to a 3s-gte turbo manifold, which will bolt up to your 5s-fe block.
feel free to read the thread on turbocharging your 5s-fe. --------------------

I would say if you get it for a bargain you might as well, because you have a lot of options on getting work done on it.
Unless there is a major problem with it, you will be able to get it reconditioned (if not upgraded) fairly cheaply if you shop around. |

It looks clean and all but the pics are a bit ruff and there are no shots of the impellers. I would not buy a turbo from ebay. Go on the mr2 boards and get one from them. You can get a low milage one from a swap for around 200 or so.

Well I would take the turbo to a shop to be checked out. Even if you need to rebuild it you made out by getting all the oil and coolent lines with it.

well, you just kinda half to look around for a local speed shop, and as far as the cost goes, I've found that its sometimes cheaper to buy a new turbo.
but that allways depends and who you buy from, or who repairs your turbo --------------------

on the 5s-fe I would never recommend boosting higher than 8 psi unless you sre intercooled, this kind of pressure really puts a strain on your connecting rods.
the reason I say no more than 8 unless intercooled is because if you have an intercooler to cool the air in your intake the result will be colder denser air, so if you run 11 or 12 psi intercooled, the mass that the air takes up is less. also, you will need larger fuel injectors for this kind of boost, something like 360cc, couple these injectors with a supra fuel pump or a nice walbro. but, as far as having a reliable motor, I would run only like 5 pounds of boost. keep in mind the intercooler, while many kits do not comewith one, its great to have, the cooler the air, the more dense the air is, the more air is cramed into the combustion chamber, the more power you get so, at like 5 psi you may make about 9 hp for each psi, with an intercooler it might be a little more --------------------

Hi! There are some conflicting statements above. Review on air mass and dense air. Why no no to high boost? >>>Greater heat generated when compress, and more strain on the piston and crank and con. rod when compressing the air. As always, fuel delivery, head design, carbon built up and many other factors can contribute to pinging since the temp. of the intake air is alot higher. Also remember that the speed of the compressor wheel also contribute to the temp. as it compress the air. Either way, just an update -------------------- West_Minist
