try and boot your computer into safe mode
when you restart your computer, just start tapping the F8 key. that should put you on your computer as just a user in diagnostics mode. maybe then you can swap your 'hidden' files to a more accessible place. i'm not sure if this will even help but its worth a try! -------------------- **If you play My Brute, joing the 6gc.net clan!**

Did you go to the Users option in the Control Panel?
I'm slightly confused with what you're saying. You created another Administrator account and called it Administrator? -------------------- |

Well your killing me with the way your answering these questions so I'm going to assume you created an administrator level account with the name "Administrator" since you don't have to name it "Administrator" to allow Admin. accessibility.
Did you try to search for your files using *.mp3 or *.jpg? This post has been edited by Supersprynt: Mar 4, 2008 - 12:19 AM -------------------- |

okay hope this helps
I created a new user ID and it became the new administrator. This new user ID has none of "My favorites" or the "my documents" or any of my pics, any of my files or any other preference configurations of the first, default administrator account. I cant see the old administrator account. I cant see or access anything in the old administrator account. I cant even get into the old admin account. I want to delete the new user ID which was given the administrator account and go back to using the old admin account which has all my preferences, but it won't let me delete the new user ID since now it is the administrator. All of my preferences are sitting in the C:/Documents and Settings/Administrator but I cant access it using the new admin account and the old admin account doesn't come up on reboot or safe-mode. How can I restore all my default settings and delete this new user ID, and go back to using and accessing the old admin. account. the administrator account you see in my pics is the old account that i cant access or log into. the new account(s) i made are Jay Bee and J, these new accounts have NOTHING from the old admin account named "Administrator". i want to delete the new accounts and go back to using my old administrator account. but i cant access or log in the old one. hope this clears up some stuff supersprynt and everyone else This post has been edited by 808celica: Mar 4, 2008 - 12:24 AM -------------------- I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island

Go to Control Panel > System > Advanced > User Profiles and try to copy over the Administrator stuff to another Profile under using the Copy To.

QUOTE(Supersprynt @ Mar 3, 2008 - 7:27 PM) Go to Control Panel > System > Advanced > User Profiles just to double check you don't have 2 listed as the same name. i did that but i'll do it again. i have only one admin account which is the new one. and i have the guest account. the old admin account (which i think you can call it the "built-in administrator" account from what i read this cant be deleted just in case of stupid stuff like this, this is what i want to access that has all my files.) I edited my post as I saw you elaborated. Try to copy the admin stuff over to the other account.
It's hard to comprehend that you can't switch users to the Admin account. If you renamed the new account Administrator I could see the problem, but all the accounts should show up on the switch users screen. Very odd.
