Well I just bought a eBay muffler the other day and I'd like to know if anyone has any idea what the diameter of the stock exhaust pipe is. Also does anyone know of a good muffler shop around the southern MA or RI area?

Oh boy...eBay muffler is the worst decision ever. I hope you enjoy sounding like a Honda.

stock exhaust is like 1.75". You should have 2.25" piping made up.

Google an exhaust shop in your area. Search prices. You'll be paying somewhere in the area of $150-$250, however I would strongly suggest getting a new muffler.

What's wrong with an Ebay muffler? I don't think it will make his car "sound like a honda" unless he installs JUST the muffler. As long as he goes with 2.25" catback piping I think it should be fine and sound the practically the same as a similiar styled muffler. But if it's just the muffler put onto stock piping then yeah, it will possibly sound like doodie :x

lol, my muffler is an ebay $30 special, I bought it originaly for my civic (way back in the day) then after it got carshed I just hung onto it till the time came to install on my celica, and to be honist its sounded pretty good with stock piping. cant judge just because its cheap you can get lucky on ebay.

regardless of the stock size a shop can fit it on, they will just have to use a size converter to fit the new muffler to the old exhaust if thats your plan. else a full cat-back would be a better way to go.

Dude, I agree with you. My neighbors were telling me to go on ebay to get mine and I was like "Yeah right foo, lemme hear your exhaust first before I go playing Monkey see, monkey Do." Well, One of them has a eagle talon with a 1.8L engine. His exhaust sounds GOOD! I am not kidding at all. Very very deep. He had the custom 2.5" piping done with the exhaust all for $120. My only complaint, was that the exhaust did look ghetto. Like the tip part looked like it could easily be crushed and made in someone's back yard out of aluminum cans or something. But to everyone else. Don't knock the sound. This sounded better them some of your name brands I hear on youtube.
