Well its been a while since i put up a post and like the normal posts i write... Bad News. (hehe)
I was on my way home from the pub last friday night after driving the car for the first time in almost TWO WEEKS when i get pulled over for a 'Random Breath Test'. I handed over my licence and puffed into the bag. (Australian limit = .05) What did i blow..????? .055 Drink driving is something i would never do. The reason i was .055 was i JUST finnished my 3rd Beer in two and a half hours. I was made to stand by the side of the road for 15 mins and then made to blow again. Result = .047 (passed) During the 15 mins of hell waiting for the result the officer in charge of the RBT slowley looked at my car with interest. At this point i thought i was ok UNTILL he said "Can you open the hood" then he takes out his note pad and starts writing things down as he tells me what is wrong with my car. Result...... What can i say...??? 1. Dont drive just after you finnish your last beer or better still DONT DRINK NOTHING AT ALL. 2. If you make a mod on your car make sure it has the paperwork to go with it. 3. Find out what can be done to you car legally before you do it. Some of the things i have done to my car i can have with the right paperwork. I should have got it before this happened. Silly me. Now because i havent got the paperwork i have to notify the police every time i take the car to have work done on it untill i have the Engineres Report done. This means, what time im going to drive the car, where im driving to and approx how long it will take to get there. On the way home the same thing has to happen...... Take note of this as i hope it dont happen to you guys. -------------------- 312whp with more to come.... |

you have to report those kinds of things in Australia? WOW; that's gay.
you didnt report that you had a turbo now you have to freakin ask for permission to drive your own car? (among the other things...) I cant even read most of that... i think the cop had to many beers... Ah, sorry to hear... I guess your screwed filing your paperwork to keep the MAN off your @ss... -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! D-man FTW! Contest the ticket in court. Ask them what kind of automotive background the officer has to be able to deem your car not road worthy.
Or you could just fix the 7 things he listed. Stuff like your horn and washer nozzles not working. This post has been edited by lagos: Mar 7, 2008 - 1:18 AM -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

The horn not working was my own fault as i never put it back onto the car after i fitted the intercooler. As for the washer nozzels.... well that was because i had now water in the washer bottle...
Taking it to court would cost more than the report i need. Lagos your right in your thinking as i thought myself 'What automotive background would the officer have.?' He's there to uphold the law not tell me whats up with my car. Did i break the law..? (Apart from the .055) -------------------- 312whp with more to come.... |

Honestly, just fix the 7 things he listed. Then they will check off that each of the 7 very simple things were fixed and remove the sticker for you.

its just the point that that arsehole did that. did he have probable cause? here if its locked, you have to have a warrant. (except in some cases) i need an explanation on how he jumps from beign able to lock you up to messing with your car. (but im glad youre not in jail bro)
but C'MON....3 beer in a 2 hour span and youre "legally" dui"?!? WTF? -------------------- |

Oh, and in this country, a loud exhaust has been held up as "probable cause" for popping the hood. Don't pull an attitude with a cop, you will get popped. Yea, a cop was being a prick to me when I was driving my old 3sgte Celica, and he said "who dresses up the car for you", i replied "its all stock" lol, and he backed off... it just pisses me off that you cant have a nice ride without getting unwanted attention from the po po's...
