hey all.
as some of you know i started my turbo build. Anyway, so far manifold has been done and turbo (T25) mounted. Oil filter relocation kit fitted and a few other bits. One thing my friend mentioned was the two hoses between the cam cover and the inlet manifold. Do these need to be blocked or have they got one one way valves? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Intercooler will go on Monday and fuel pump. Please advise what to do about vacuum pipes. Cheers. This post has been edited by FunkySR: Mar 7, 2008 - 8:21 PM |

im not the 7afte expert, but, my first thought is to say, if i remember right, the 7a has 2 hoses, one with the PCV valve, and one without.
the once with the PCV valve "should" be able to stay, as the PCV valve is a one way valve, that will only allow crankcase vapors to be evacuated by intake manifold vacume. the other hose should be routed to your intake piping, pre- turbo, with a catch can in line with that if you choose to use one. lookin good BTW! ![]() -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

presure2 is right with the vacuum hoses , if you leave it hooked up it will cause your valve cover seal to blow ,and i would try to use a catch can.

nice.
did you need to relocate the oil filter ? I have seen other 7aftes and they haven't relocated it, is it in the way with the downpipe ? -------------------- |

in all fairness i wanted an easy life and quick oil changes. I think It will be in te way, but we'll see how fabricating the downpipe goes...I would be gutted if I had to keep the filter there. I like being different. haha.

I've been following the progress on the ccuk, why did you have to delete the oil filter relocation kit ?
no room for it ? no place to mount it ? was there enough room with the filter as is ? -------------------- |
