so just got finished "seafoam-ing" the engine and it was smoking pretty good as expected and the engine was hating life for a few minutes but all said and done it seems like the slight tick i had has maybe just gotten worse? so do i continue to use? give it some time to go away? i am pretty sure i need a new valve cover gasket but i don't think that would cause the tick to be more severe...? really i am in no rush b/c i just need this 7a to make it a lil longer till i swap in a 3s this summer... suggestions welcomed though.

if you run it through the oil it will thin it out and would probably make a tick like that louder, i would give it some fresh oil now.

Take off the valve cover and check your valve shim clearances. Im willing to bet thats whats making the noise.

Did you seafoam the engine oil or just the intake?

FYI Toyota engines tick. It's part of owning a Toyota.....

*Not to say you don't have a problem, but sometimes a "problem" is par for the course*

and i put a small amount (maybe.. an ounce) in the oil (before the change). and about 1/3 the bottle in the intake. i used about 2oz in my brothers camry and the rest will be going on my gas soon.
