I got a blue lighted switch to hook up for some lights in my speakers. The only problem is that I'm not sure where to wire the positive and negative for the switch. It's a 12volt, 16A switch. I don't have any empty fuse slots, that I'm aware of. Except maybe the one labeled FOG, cause I don't have fog lights (although it's wired for fogs, there aren't actually any there). Would that be a good spot for power? Any suggestions? Oh, and the switch is gonna be about 3 inches from the fuse box under the dash. there was a piece i could pop out and put something else in, so thats where the switch is going

dont know the translation of this part , but you can use the thing to light cigars to wire it.
if the fuse is out, no major issues than a non operational cigar lgther.

Anyone have a suggestion on a ground close to the fuse box area? Or anything else?

Buy an add-a-fuse mini and install it on any of your other light fuses. This device looks sort of like a fuse and will actually take the place of one fuse and add two slots [one for the original fuse] for fuses. The second fuse position has a pigtail wire coming out that you would use to power [12v] the lights you are adding. Do a search on here for the add-a-fuse mini and you will see what I'm talking about. One post, in particular, that I am thinking of even has a picture of the device hooked up.
As for the ground - there are a number of metal [chasis grounded] spots right there around the fuse panel that you could use. Just add a wire with a ring clamp on it so that it doesn't come out on you down the road. BTW - the (-) terminal on that switch is most liekly just the ground for the status light on the switch itself and therefore is not completely necessary [but might as well hook it up so that everything works as designed and you have an indication when the lights are on]
Hope this helps

Add a fuse mini; lol, that's what i have my 'Guardian' hooked up with.

Under the capret right there at the fuse panel (interior) there are a number of bolts and stuff that can be used for a fantasterific ground (atleast for that tiny LED light)

The switch is just a regular switch, with a branch off the (+) positive and a grounded (-) negitive to power that little LED light bulb. Wire it like a regular switch, only this time you have to pay attention to witch one is going where. Constant and Acc. will matter (for the LED light) Unless you want the LED on all the time (then wire it backwards) lol.

Constant means power, and acc. means accesory, like the lights I'm adding, correct? Normally I understand this stuff pretty good, but I've been doing so many different things lately that it's getting hard to keep them all in order lol

Yeah - you got it. Unless you want the light ot be on all the time [like the window switch] in which case you would reverse that.

Alright cool. I probably won't get around to doing this until sometime next week, prolly like Monday - Wednesday. I know this is a sorry excuse for not installing a simple switch, but I got hooked on Forza Motorsport 2 and am now creating (or gonna attempt to create) a Flintstones Mini Cooper. Kinda off subject I know, sorry. I'll post again when I do the switch and let you all know how it turned out and all that good stuff. Peace.
