so about a grand or two, that sounds real good to me. As for what gen it is i have no idea yet, the engine was available for 400 with wiring harness, trd plug wires and other misc. stuff so i jumped on it quik. I was thinking of using the mr2 tranny, i dont know if the st can handle all that or can it?

wow 400 and with wiring harness....sounds a bit too cheap to believe, you might wanan rebuild that motor and change everything. And go read the stickies and research man, u can get the mr2 trannny with lsd, (e153) but u need to change shift cables, and links, and make custom axles, and ur gonna need flywheel, clutch, and ecu.

i just looked at it and man am i missing parts. what i have that can identify right away is the block, intake(does it being ceramic do any differnce?) ecu, wiring, oil pan, trd wires and other pieces that i dont know what they are. I have the ct26 turbo but that was on the side thanks to my cousin. maybe thats why it was so cheap to believe.
as for the year, i have the manual for a 92 mr2, dont know wich gen that is havent been able to do much reearch due to school and work. I thought i had herd soething about the mr2 tranny and gt cables, i think theres also the solora and the gt tranny that i could use. If i would use the mr2 tranny it wouldnt have to be a custom clutch or flywheel, am i correct? I kind of did some searching on the axles and i read that for the mr2 tranny i need mr2 inners and solora outers. shoot i hope this works out for me so i can shut up all these honda kids at school...lol |

post some pics of your motor and most people on here could tell you what gen it is just by looking at it. i couldn't but a lot of the long timers could

Well, you're still going to need a flywheel for the 3sgte motor, as for the clutch your safe if u use the e153(i might be wrong), and the tranny from solara and mr2 are the same except u might not get the LSD, as for the gt tranny, you're going to need 3s clutch and flywheel.
But yes, post some pics of your motor and I can differentiate them for but as for the most obvious differences are on the TMIC, the 2nd gen is a silver color as for the 3rd and 4th gen, they're black, but 3rd gen has words on it and 4th gen is just black grille with toyota symbol on it (not entirely sure). You're better in luck to find a gt tranny (s54) as there are a couple members selling them. To find an e153, you probably gonna have to go to a junkyard to pull one off an mr2 or solara. |

ok, ill take some pictures this weekend. I dont know if those will be enough since i dont have the head with me just the intake and block. and yea i hear the gt trany is the way to go since its easier to source out, but my question is will it be able to hold a nice amount of power? i dont know maybe i might be thinking way ahead but im hopefully looking at pushing 350 or so, is that to much for the 3s? then again these questions might already be answerd, i just need more research.

Im thinking you have a gen 1 motor if it was that cheap. or it could be a busted gen 2... or you just got really lucky and found a great deal. As far as the swap price. You are closer to 3k with missing as much as you are. I am up to 8k in my swap... boooo. As far as is 350hp too much for a 3s.... does this answer your question??? http://www.suprastore.com/703sgtemot.html http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...ideoid=19374923 -Matt This post has been edited by politicsareevil: Mar 11, 2008 - 11:40 PM |

The intake manifold says dual entry. Thats the second gen 3sgte, because 1st gen came with a single entry turbo.

I found that out next moment after i left my post.
You sir have a 2nd gen 3s-gte motor, nice engine. Now wanna donate to the Poor Micheal Ly due to his car support program? *edit* if u want to use a mr2 tranny, find one with LSD in it, and u have to get new shift cables, make custom axles, (not clutch or flywheel) but you'll need a 3sgte flywheel and 3s clutch, or you could use a S54 tranny which is the GT tranny and just get new clutch. Also, u have a mr2 motor, you're gonna have to source a lot of parts because mr2 and celi 3s motors use different parts. This post has been edited by _mikeE: Mar 27, 2008 - 11:25 PM |

So what would all the different parts be? is till need to get a crank, pistons, rods prettty much everything so that means sensors and wiring, i think i have the wiring harness back in vegas, ecu is here with me. how much do you guys think this will run me up with all the missing parts, especially since i want to do some work to the engine since its all in pieces. yea i had ead about the tranny and whole cables and axles thing. I would have to use the mr2 inners and solora outers right? i think there was differnent combinations of it
