hey guys. i was roaming autozone the other day. i ran across things such as fuel injection cleaner, octane boosters, and stuff that supposed to clean your intake and carb and stuff like that. all of them would be dispensed through the gas hole.

im just wondering if these things really work? they are labeled as lasting for 3,000 miles which would mean i would only use 2 bottles a year. thats like 10 dollars a year which isnt bad if these things actually do something.

anyone have experiance with them?

Personally, I would prefer seafoam your engine, it'll do all that stuff for you and tell you where you have a bad gasket, or you could go to Mr. Lube and ask for a stage 4 fuel man. job, they clean out your fuel injectors, fuel rail, fuel lines, throttle body, ur entire intake system and everything. It's well worth it.

I'd prefer picking up a can of seafoa and call it a day. Why take it to get the car serviced, when you can do everything yourself with some seafoam.

I was getting around 22ish miles to the gallon pre-injector cleaner. Bought some 2 dollar STP one that was on sale and now I'm getting around 27. So I recommend it.

BG products are a world better and safer for your motor than seafoam (BG 44k for instance)

"octane boosters" are a waste of money and do nothing....

Might as well forget the Seafoam thing. if you're appt's won't let you work on the car there your gonna get evicted for sure when the seafoam starts a smokescreen in there.

okay, no sea foam for me... Black and smokey; My apartments already told me the first day i had that car (first day after the day i brought it) that it better move every day or it'll be towed. No broken down dirty cars in their parking lot, and it pisses em off that they havn't been able to tow it yet.

Besides, if anything smokes more than i do; i dont trust it to live long laugh.gif And i think i'm at the limit with those office managers tongue.gif

Yes, that's why I didn't do seafoam on my driveway, because my driveway insersects with an alley so I dont want ppl thinking there's a fire haha. That's why I went to Mr. Lube to do the stage 4 fuel man. job, it's sorta the same thing and yes the big clouds of smoke and I paid only 100 for the job.
I did notice a difference in bringing back a bit of lost power due to old age; and before I used to do 4krpm when goin 120km/h but now it's like at 3500-3600rpm.
I've brought some friends to do the samething and they all had positive results and I've driven their cars before and after too so yeah.

You can get Seafoam at almost any parts shop... Autuozone, NAPA, CSK, Pep Boys, etc. I believe it's $5.99 everywhere.
