I was on my way to school this morning, and then this big truck just stops in the middle of the road in front of me so I hit the brakes.. but the guy behind me (who also goes to my school) didnt react fast enough and ended up slamming into my car. I had just spent a lot of money making my car "perfect" (new tires, headlights) and now i have to deal with this!
Ill take pics later today. Right now the bumper doesnt have a dent in it, buts its bent at the left and the right most corners where it meets the tail lights.. also the area around my license plate is cracked. Does anyone know how much a new bumper and that back area would cost to replace? First car, First accident xD |

I also think that you would need a re-bar... not sure but you might. But yeah, like everybody is saying... insurance should cover all this up.

I wouldn't worry about what that part is... if the other kid's insurance will cover it (which it absolutely should), let the body shop handle it.
You might want to get an estimate someplace else other than a dealership, BTW. Insurance companies are notorious for cheaping out and lowballing, and they might not cover in its entirety what a dealership will charge for the repairs. -------------------- |

glad to hear that your at least okay. i say you hunt him down in the hallways and bruise his bumper a bit kidding just kidding.
Find a decent looking mechanic's place, someplace small but clean, and get them to do the work. 9 times out of 10 they will make sure the insurance company pays them because they know you dont have the money And so then you have someone on your side to make sure you dont pay a dime. Good luck with that. This post has been edited by D-Man: Mar 20, 2008 - 1:31 PM -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! D-man FTW! thanks for all your support guys!
I went to world Toyota, the guy there took a look at it and he said the total to replace the bumper cover, and the back part of the trunk (with labor) is like $1100! and then he also said that there might also be other damages under the bumper so they will cover that when I get the insurance information. this really sucks I cant do anything until the police report is done. One more question, when the other guys insurance looks over my car and gives me an estimate, am I allowed to go to any shop I want to get the work done? on the bright side I get to drive a new car for a week or so xD (rental car while the car is in the shop) |

yeah, in TX you can take it to any shop you want, or fix yourself.
i'd get quite a few estimates, pick the highest, and get a written est. and give that to the insurance. -------------------- QUOTE "And, as always, your friendship, help, and dedication to the advancement of Texas Celica dominance is GREATLY appreciated.
