Ok. I have a super AFC coming in soon, and I was wondering what guages you guys would get. I know I'll need an Air-Fuel guage, but what nect? I'm thinking one of the following: Oil pressure, Water temp, or fuel pressure. What would you guys do?

i have an AFR gauge and a boost/vacuum gauge. i have really leaned out the car with my SAFC2 and it still reads rich.
if you are sticking with NA, then all you would need is AFR and maybe tranny temp or something like that. i should have gotten an EGT gauge but my dad has an electric one he uses on airplanes that i will use for initial tuning. -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

Hey man, I'm in the same boat!
I'm looking at getting the following 3: 1. AFR gauge is a must! 2. Temperature gauge, (hot engines don't run well) 3. Fuel Pressure gauge (let's you now if your fuel pump can keep up). Other useful ones... 4. Oil Pressure gauge (let's you now if your oil pump can keep up) 5. EGT gauge Then, if you're going the Forced Induction route... 6. Boost gauge etc... Problem is, they aint cheap (best buys I've found are the Autometer gauges at summitracing.com) and if you get ALL of these where are you going to put them - 3 in a Lotek pillar gauge mount but after that ???? BTW: I strongly suggest electronic gauges NOT mechanical. |
