So i was browsing around the local classifieds and saw a sick IS300 with the altezza grill and badges. it's a black 02 with a standard Tranny (very hard to find btw) for 13000. it has a sweet system in it already.
Pros- RWD, Lexus, Manual, NA supra motor, sick sound system, leather interior.
Cons- it's 13grand, has 115k mi, have to get rid of the celi.

if i did get it the only mods i would do is rims and lower.
what do you guys think?

Anyone who has one LMK how you like them in your response.

You could do so much with that car... you say you wouldnt do mods to it but you know you are lieing... If you can afford it, that car would be a huge upgrade. And since its so new it would be so much easier to get it worked on by dealerships. We all love our celicas but come on man we all love to dream about newer cars and such. Post some links to this IS....

if you can buy the IS cash ( given that you sell the celi to get some of the money ) go ahead, if you have to get a loan or something don't buy it, keep saving, getting in debt for a car unless is an emergency, it's not worthy.
if the celi doesn't have major mechanical issues or is prone to failure at any time, keep it for a while longer and save some money, so you can get the car without going into car payments.

My mom owns an is300 and if you have the money, I say go for it. They are nice clean cars. They drive good too, but you did say the con is the fact that the car is worth 13000. If you don't have the money for it, stick with the Celi. Yes, the celica may need a bit of attention and can be costly at the end, but just ask yourself, if you plan on keeping the is300 for a really really long time. If thats the case, then go for it, because if you go that route and don't plan on beating on the is, you won't spend as much as you would having to up keep the celi.

well i found another IS300 but it's an auto for 10.5k. i'm going to try to go check it out on wednesday. it won't be too much more than what i'm paying for the celi for payments plus i have all this extra stuff for the celi i could sell to help cover cost.

here's a pic of the cheaper one
IPB Image

the altezza is just a lil too pricey although the manual tranny is very tempting.
thanks for the input so far.

test drove one today and i have to say that the automatic sucks. frown.gif
people say that the tiptronic is like a manual. i say they obviously haven't driven a manual. there is too much lag. i'm going to look for a manual and see if i can get one for a decent price. otherwise i'm going to get an older 4runner to use as a second car while the celi gets turbo. biggrin.gif
