So I ordered these a month ago for $182 shipped:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=160209165898

And got these from UPS yesterday:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KYB-AGX-SHO...tem160220501911

Both auctions list the Nissan part numbers but I didn't find that out until today. The AGX shocks also go for about $400 shipped. What should I do? Sell the AGXs and buy the GR2s and make almost $200 or send them back and wait another month for them to get the order right?

I've a friend who just picked up an '89 240sx that needs some new shocks, i'll ask'em. But only if u give me for a good price and your engine wink.gif haha jk ATLEAST GIVE ME A TEST RIDE IN IT hehehe...that'll be the day
Anyway, i'm also going to be purchasing myself a set as well, just need to find out if i've got the rebuildable or sealed struts, but from your link i'll assume you have the rebuildable struts.
I was reading and there was a member who was giving feedback on a site they ordered their KYB's from.
importrp.com
This way atleast you won't have to wait so long on shipping and wno't get the wrong one again. lol

My shocks look nothing like those. Those look like the ones in the photos. Sometimes I wonder if I have the right ones, but I keep looking at them and they are the right ones.... At least they are the KYB GR-2 gas struts. They just don't have that circle ring on the ends. It is more like a flat half bowl shape.

I'd sell 'em and get the ones that you need. If you know your gonna make some $$$ on it then I'd say go for it.

You guys don't think it's dis-honest not to contact the seller? Granted the part numbers listed were for the AGX shocks but it said GR2 in the description.

If that's your way of justifying it to yourself... so be it...

However... just think of it this way. CLEARLY NOT the item you tried to ordered... so regardless of whether or not you stand to profit... is it "right"? I'm not some a god fearing person btw... an athiest if anything...

Heres what happened.... You purchased nissan shocks as stated in the description of the item. It is not your fault he had the ebay description as celica shocks and the price to go with it. You didnt do anything wrong. He "technically" did not send you the wrong item. He sent you exactly what the part number was under the description. I personally would sell them and try to get what you need. If you feel dishonest then try to find someone on this board who needs them or a friend who needs them and sell them to them at little profit and reorder the correct gr2's. But what would be smart is to sell them at the same mark up the do on ebay and use the extra money to buy your correct shocks and have a bit extra left over for a mod for the celica.....

just my opinion,

Don't you think your integrity is worth more than what you'd make? Or can something like this buy your integrity for a couple hundred dollars? I would recommend returning them. wink.gif

Nah Stevenson, AGX's are like double the price of GR-2's. They're a higher model.

x2, its not a deal of integrity, Technically WannabeGT4 ordered the wrong part. At least that's what e-bay is going to tell him. And this company he bough from listed this Nissan part as a Celica part, Obviously they dont know the difference between a Nissan and a Toyota! So do you really wanna trust them to send the right ones anyway? Will they send you the right ones? Or maybe parts for a Hundai next? laugh.gif

Also, the seller isnt going to want to pay for shipping again; and Your going to have to pay shipping to him; and it becomes a big mess so the seller will likely claim that your crazy & blah-blah-blah. Headache & Hassle. Thats what it boils down to.

Just sell em for as much as your can; Then buy the correct ones! biggrin.gif Every-body wins...

X3
I agree with all of this. Keep in mind that if you do contact him to send them back and he does pay for the shipping to return, How long you think it will take him to refund the money or send you the correct ones if it took him that long to send the ones you bought? Sell 'em and get the ones you want or better ones....

But they didn't sell him the wrong part, he failed as a consumer to do his homework and verify that the part number he was ordering was in fact the correct part number for his car. The company made the error by describing the application of the part number incorrectly. But it's the consumer's responsibility to make sure they're buying the right thing.

Personally, I'd contact the company, explain the situation, make sure they know the application description is incorrect, and ask for an exchange with a refund for the difference. I don't see how that'll take any longer than selling them and re-ordering and waiting for shipping. In fact it might even take less time than that.
