Hey so i got a 5SFE from im guessing a JDM camry. The exhaust was different and the intake so i switched them. Ive got it back in the car no problem when i realize the oil pan from this one is different then mine. I took off the oil pan to possibly swap when i see that it has some big block attached to the bottom which turns when you turn the crank. Is this those balance shafts that ive heard about?
My old oil pan wont fit on around this mechanism.... is it possible to take out. The reason im concerned is because it looks as if my oil pan will rest on the crossmember when fully installed does anyone know anything about this??? Also the Plate that bolts to the bottom of the tranny so that you can access the flywheel to driveplate bolts will no longer fit around this new oil pan.... because its white metal can i cut it up a bit to fit it around the oil pan?? so that my flywheel can stayed covered? Finally it seemed that the oil pan just used FIPG for the seal am i correct in assuming so? This post has been edited by 94celigts: Mar 23, 2008 - 10:33 AM |

sounds more like a solora/camry 5sfe. theres several iterations of the 5sfe through out its lifetime with some differences such as balance shafts. did you ask for a specific year or range of years of engine or just 'gimme a 5sfe'?

No... not at all but some of the people like yourself or others that may have viewed it and have greater knowledge of swaps could have left something like sorry ive never experienced it. I dunno just felt to me like everyone looked and not one person said much... anyways, update everything is in just waiting to go back home and plug everything else in and throw the new stuff in and on. It ended up fitting with the camry oil pan on with the balance shafts in? you just have to cut away at the transmission access plate to fit it in. Maybe ill get some pictures. So others might get some answers. Ill let everyone know.
