So today Bryan *Valo666* decided to supprise me with doing some work on my interior. With me giving him some help, we re-upholstered my headliner, and dyed my back seats black. We were going to go dye my front seats black too, but we ran out of dye.

Anyways, enjoy the pictures

that was my girlfriend posting...so...girl. And i think its coffee. It looks like coffee or some sort of darker drink. I dont think the guy who we bought it off of ever cleaned his car. It was pretty filthy when we got it.

BTW when I worked for the Honda dealership. I had to clean seats that looked worse than those... It sucked but it can be done. I feel your pain. Clean the front ones best you can before you dye them. The stains will repel the dye... trust me. It will look uneven. Get some engine degreaser and spray it on the use an uphostry brush (plastic bristle) to scrub the degreaser in then use a wet dry vac to vacuum the seat as you flush it with water.. roll with that let me know if it helps...

Sorry to bump and old thread but what did you guys use for the headliner? I just ordered new flooring carpet from stockinteriors.com because my carpet is stained from a leaking sunroof problem. I'd like to make the headliner black to match.

stockinteriors has this http://www.stockinteriors.com/autoheadline...d=&ModelId=

I was thinking about it but I want to see how the carpet is first.

we used actuall headliner material. Theres a shop near us that sells all kinds of auto parts and material for reconditioning stuff. They sell headliner material, its kinda like a soft fluff, and its got a foam under it to block out sound. Its about $7/meter, and they also sell carpet material, and vynal. I havent tackeled any headliners so far with sunroof's *OEM sunroofs at least, with the sliding cover*, but if i do get one done, ill put a write up on it.

EDIT: I just took a look at the material they are offering, and it looks alot like the stuff im using.

Thanks Bryan smile.gif

The sun roof is the only thing that really worries me I really could use it though the sun roof leak did a lot of damage to the floors and to the headliner. Tonight I'm going to take my seats out and get ready for the carpet this weekend so while i'm in there i'll look at my headliner and see how complicated it is.

About how much material did you need?

to be honest, i cant remember...what i did was i brought the old headliner material i had taken out of my car when i did my project...
Scroll down a bit..
and i just asked them for the same amount + about a half a foot more, just to be safe. What i would do, measure from the front of your headliner to the back and then add about 5 or 6 inches to be safe. As for the width, i think the stuff i got is 52inches wide. That was plenty, i actually had to trim it a bit. But my main tip while doing this, Center it and start your glueing from the center out working towards the front more so then the rear. The main reason for this is to work in all the rolls and bends around the sunroof and around the sunvisors.

That looks awesome, you guys did a great job.

What did you use to dye your seats?

Mine are a light color and I definitely want them darker.

must admit looks 100X better now biggrin.gif

never thought about re-doing the headliner - i have black leather interior and the headliner is a grey material, would look much better black imo... was the headliner easy to remove?

yea, just a little akward to take out and put back in, since she has a coupe. But its just removing the 3 little clips in the rear of the car above the rear seats, taking down the rear view mirror, sunvisors, and then pulling back on the plastics around it, and i know some UK cars dont have it, but some do, also taking off the clothing hooks in the back plastics. All in all, with a philips head screw driver, it shouldnt take more then 30 min.
