hello guys, i haven't bought the honda yet. it belongs to my in-law and wants 500 for it. It runs pretty decent, other than at hard accelaration the fuel system light comes on sometimes, and it's a little shaky in neutral. It has only 16K miles on it. The fairing needs repainting and touch-up and needs some TLC for cosmetic reasons. My good friend found me a bike from his friend who doesn't ride as often. it's a 92 suzuki katana. it's either 600 or 750. only has 32K miles and it's in a great condition and spotless. I can get it for 750-800 bucks. i looked them up in kelly blue book and if they were at their top shape, 92 katana goes for $2175 and the 82 cx500t goes for 2550. I cant make up my mind. What do you guys think?

that honda is a flat out classic and a collectors item if it has the stock turbo on it, u could easily sell that honda for $3500 if u clean it up. And any one that knows a thing about bikes would dool if u pulled up on that honda.

as ugly as that honda is.... he is right. It is pretty tight... I would save up and get them both haha.... If you were to get the honda you wouldnt want to ride that beast daily. As far as the Katana... good starter bike. Thats the first bike I learned to ride on. They are slow though which is a good thing if you are just starting out. Man did I have fun learning. I rode the Katana for about 5 minutes and then 1 week later my friend let me "test drive" his brand new R6.....I'm in love. I will get me an R6 as soon as I can afford one. All in all both bikes are good to start out on..... the honda not so much given its age and it isnt so fun to be riding on something that is kinda shaky at idle or may have some bugs in the system. The Katana would probably be more reliable but its up to you man... Put up a poll and see what people think....

well coming from a honda hater...me... i would buy the honda hands down..that sucker is a classic , if i could get my hands on it for 500 bucks i'd definatly restore it to mint shape! the katana is a nicer cleaner looking bike but that honda is has a nice resell value if in good shape! I wouldnt worry to much about which would be the better starter bike power wise.. my starter bike was a FZR1000 its all about how u handle it till u get comfortable..no horse play till u know for a fact its not gonna come out from under ur ass lol

Thanks a lot guys. I'm keeping the Honda. I'm going to start the restoration slowly this weekend. I'll post pics when done. Thanks again. btw one of the thing that I liked about the honda so much was that it got so much attention and i never understood why.
