How do I take this thing off? I tried prying and pulling but it does not come off!

Are you taking out your dash? The vent doesn't need to come out for that. So far as I can tell, it was never intended to be removed at all.

I took my dash off and let me tell you, that vent is held in by 4 clips. It is nearly impossible to remove. I believe 2 are plastic and two are metal. It is somewhat similar to the drivers side, but the tabs are much tighter. The ductwork for them as well as the defroster vent will be in the way as well. I only got mine out because I was changing out the airbag, so my dash was coming out.

I wish I took a picture of it to show you. (I somewhat documented my dash removal.) You get two clips squeezed and then the other side pops into place.

I waited until I got the dash out. MUCH easier.

Thanks, I finally got it out. I forced it and I broke the 2 plastic clips on the bottom of the vent. I figured that it would be easier if I took off the whole dashboard but I'm not doing that just for a vent.

I wish you could have took pics!

Was going to say slide a card like a credit card you dont need at the top and bottom edge widest edge in and it'll pop out. However looking at the pics it looks too late.
