Search function works great when you use the right keywords..... here's the link on the "how-to". With this the CEL will stay on and you need to check you local laws for legality in your area before attempting to modify your car..... (legality speech outta the way now lol)

Edit: Whoops, didn't paste it in here originally lol http://evilspeed.com/Speed_defeat.htm

the only way i can think of to raising the 7afe rev limit is to get a new ECU. Never heard of the crystal thing.

why do you want to raise the rev limit anyways? you know the higher you rev the 7afe the less horsepower you get....

this is used to remove the governer of the 7afe, it does nothing to raise the rev limit.

there is no need to raise it...you'll only go slower and then go boom

Has anyone ever decompiled the ECU? Do people bother with that for any ECU? For that matter, what alternate ECUs are available for our cars?

For the longest time I was so mad that no one made chips or there was no way to flash our ECU's. It made me furious. Then after looking at the prices for the modded ecus and such for hondas. I got to realize for that kind of money in a 7a you could do much more. As stated above. Going higher rpm is only going to make you slower and kill your engine because you think pushing it to the limit will make you faster. If you think a simple pulled wire on the ecu is going to gain you tons of power, go to any grocery store and pick up a hot rod or V8 magazine. Go read an issue that specifically deals with cams cranks pistons and such. If you read the import mags they tend to be just sales ads for the newest HKS Greddy and the such items. I have nothing against those companies, I love them. Its just that in all my times, I have found the v8 mags will give you more knowlege on how an engine and its tuning actually works. The import mags basically say: " Go to this link to buy your cold air intake, go here for your cat back exhaust, then go to this link to order a flashed ECU, and BOOM 30hp " Did you learn anything more than web addresses and the new product out? Not really. Take time out of your day to read a v8 magazine. These guys have been tuning engines long before we were born. They know how to squeeze HP out of an engine without the click of a mouse and laptop settings tagged along with a heavy price tag. You will be surprised at what you learn.

Just my 2 cents.
