Hey,
I just purchased a c-one front bumper replica and brought it into the body shop in my town and they told me that some drastic changes would need to be made to my car for this bumper to even fit. a few things that they listed off included: cutting the fenders, removing the impact bars, getting new turns and side markers, as well as making new brackets for the headlamps. I was wondering if anyone knows of any c-one or zyclone bumpers that have good fitment and that don't require extensive work.

Why are they saying that they need to cut the fenders? I hope they don't think that the bottom lip on the bumper that wraps around the fender is bad fitment.

Where did you get the bumper?

98 Celica gt red- totaled deer
94 Celica st black DD (bad weather beater)- totaled deer
95 Celica gt silver- chassis sold
88 Celica All-Trac (Burned to a crisp)

In need of a rust free chassis!!!!

they r telling you the truth for allmost everything u dont have to cut your fenders and i dont think u have to make new headlight mounts. but u can modify the inpact bar to fit if im right and ull have to modify the turns to fit but u might want to source some st205 turns or modify the 96-99 turns to fit like im planning on doing.

go get a second opinion from another shop. That (IMO) sounds like bull~

I know for a fact that most lips fit over the fenders, and use the same splash guard mounts to hold in place. If they cut that fender than there'll be no way to hold the new bumper up.

go tell those people that, then tell em; "Duh~" rolleyes.gif

laugh.gif

find another shop; or do it yourself.

shops are BS. go DIY fun experience. plus its only a bumper. yeah some mods needs to be done. but do the mods on the bumper IMO since its f/g.

Yeah, if you got a fiberglass C-One, then grab your balls and do it yourself. its not hat hard, just gotta get under there and remember where all your screws go.

If you get scared of loosing em, grab a box of cheap-o sandwich bags (89cents for like 300) from your local run-down grocery store (i prefer Fiesta biggrin.gif ) and sharpie the bags with the location of where they went; then keep your corresponding screws in there.

sounds dumb, but if it's the first time your taking it apart, then don't be scared, be smart. wink.gif

knock it out and take some pics for us biggrin.gif we love our pics here on 6gc laugh.gif

I have it on my car about 2 year now... I bought it when it first came out C1 replic..
You will need to take off yours front bumper support or trim down back side of the kit.
For the bumper signal light, you will need to make custom bracket or make fiberglass a mold of signal light.
for the two two side, you will need to drill hole into side of fender.. check out my profile.

A temporary fix for the turns that i did cause I'm broke frown.gif is drill a hole through the housing and bolt the whole thing to a tab on the bumper. It surprisingly doesn't look too bad.

Does anyone know what needs to be modified with the 96-99 turns so that they can fit into the c1 kit. And also what modifications need to be done to the impact bar?
