This post is about fitting the 619GL onto the double din slot

So here's the Lilliput 619 touch screen:

The whole LCD assembly can be forced into between the 2 clips on the panel, but the top hits the air-vent (about 5mm too long).

And the bottom is also too long (about 10mm over):

So, instead of fitting this as is like pittfirefighter did with his 629, we'll have to do some cutting tongue.gif First we'll have to break the warranty and take this thing apart:

From my measurements, I'd have to cut the case by following the existing gutter on the front casing. Not only it'd be a perfect fit, I also get to retain all the screw holes on the front casing:

I went to Home Depot a bought a $5 hacksaw. Oh, wear a mask or something because it smells when cutting the plastic. After the cut and a little filing, I got the front case to look like this:

See, perfect fit biggrin.gif ! Instead of taping it or whatever, I decided to super glue it onto the panel:

Since all the screw holes are still there, I can just mount the monitor the way it came from the factory:

And the back casing, I also need to cut the top and the bottom, and some of the sides to make clearance for the center panel clips:

Connected all of the wirings and mounted the back panel. As for the buttons on the bottom, I just taped it on the back of the casing later on:

You like it?

After programming the Lilliput to auto-power up, then you don't even need your buttons at all.... I just taped my buttons to the back side of the casing.

For auto power up the Lilliput, you can read this post here:

Have you had any problems with your screen at all? I've been through 3 screens in my Celica and each one had a different problem. The first one I had didn't do too well in the daytime when my car was hot on the inside. The second one didn't show picture well during the daytime, so on a bright day, I could barely see anything on the screen. The one I have now works great, but when I have the top down, the sunlight will reflect off the screen and blind me frown.gif .

I fabricated a XENARC screen to my center dash. The great thing is the XENARC is built with auto-power on functions. I will upload a picture when the car gets back from the body shop.

Summers coming my friend. I had a great deal of work done.
The center dash piece I frabricated to look factory. I will upload some pics of it and im willing to take it apart to show how its is done. It really quite simple. but takes some effort sanding and such.

I like what tomazws has done. I just wanted a factory look. to do so you need to buy an extra monitor bezel from the factory. In my case Xenarc. it was only $27 and then some Dynatron, sandpaper, primer, paint and lots of elbox grease. with a bit of effort I have a center dash with a radio head unit a touchscreen AND my clock. I had to redirect air flow...but its a vert...i really dont care.
