Here's the deal: the shocks and springs I bought and installed recently came assembled and were taken off another Celica. My car drives just like it did before, so do I need to get an alignment? One thing I should mention is that my steering wheel is slightly turned to the left when the wheels are straight. Thanks!

Generally, you would most likely need to do your alignment because even though they were taken off another celica, your car's alignment and camber will be off.
Also, if your steering wheel is not aligned straight with your wheels then OBVIOUSLY your wheels aren't lined up with your steering wheel--alignment solution. Drive your car for like another week or two so it can settle in, and then do your alignment. This post has been edited by _mikeE: Apr 12, 2008 - 5:19 PM |

any time you do any thing concerning the steering system or suspension, you should get an alignement done. Like changing springs, shocks, mounts, ball joints, tierod, etc...you should get an alignment done. Stuff like swaybar endlinks, mounts, brakes, rear wheel bearings, your ok without one.

If you go without an alignment, you'll notice that your tires will be eatin up. Just get an alignment, the fact that your steering wheel is slightly off means you need an alignment.

Cool, I will get an alignment soon in this case. Just wondering, other than tire wear, is there anything else that could happen b/c of poor alignment?

I'm sure gas mileage will suffer due to bad alignment.
And of course the fact that the steering wheel isn't straight should bother you as the driver. -------------------- 98 Celica gt red- totaled deer

would probably slightly affect handling, but prolly not too big a concern in regular driving?
