My girlfriend's family have three or some such, all 4x4 models (including some insane off-road kitted Samurai). I assume they work well based on the beating the samurai especially receives on off-roading funsies.
Also my mate's brother has a very small early 90's suzuki and it's like driving a go-kart ![]() No real first hand experience other than that though... -------------------- |

4 of my buddies choose suzuki for off-roading cuz they're cheap, light, good on gas and can take a hard beating.
i'd say they're good economy cars.. they last long and are easy to fix or replace parts. -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

My friend has a 1.3 Suzuki swift - 10yr old car and still only minor problems. Friend of mine had a GEO Metro - basically same stuff but with automatic transmission - no problems there either. My co-worker has a Suzuki samurai 1.6 - he loves it.

My g/f had a 1997 Samurai until last summer - She sold it w/154k on the body, and with it's third motor installed. She didn't even drive it hard. It was just problem after problem. The clutch was constantly going out, one time the actual clutch pedal BROKE at the weld where the rod mounts to the joint where the cable comes through the firewall. When I went to the dealership to get a new pedal, they told me it wasn't terribly uncommon. When I went back the second time because the one they gave me broke within six months, they gave me the new one for free.
That car really sucked. We sold it to some guys w/the CEL light on and a bad clutch cable, who were gonna take it to El Salvador anyway. Good riddens. -------------------- ![]() |
