I came across somebody that plans to put a 3rd gen 3S-GE in his ST, is this a straight shot or does the car have to go thru some engine mounts mods so it could be done... what about the ST transmission will it fit this type of engine. i've been doing some research but i cant find out an exact website that could help me clarify that. any help for my understanding will be greatly appreciated...

Motor mounts have to be changed out. That's just to get you started. There's lots of info on THIS website/forum that will answer all/almost all of any questions that you'll have on the 3s swap for an ST. Just use the search option on the forums and I'm sure you'll find almost everything you'll wanna know about the swap(enough info to have you reading for days lol). I'll post up a starter link for ya in a min.

Here's a how to that might answer most of your questions, if not, then do a search for specific issues/questions then if you can't find it, just ask.... we're all here to help out

thanks for the info... thats exactly what i needed to clear out.... so for the our ST, if we plan to put in an "S" series engine, there should be some engine mounts modifications which in the end its not worth the money. but if i choos an "A" series engine it will be more cost effective... thanks a lot, thats all i needed to know, i just wanted to clear that out of my head.

Well, the input for the engine is gonna be the same(i.e. motor mounts are gonna need to be replaced). Not sure(i know it's posted somewhere on here about it) but i think basically the same tranny list is applicable for this engine as well. Basically the 3S-GE is the same as the 3S-GTE, except no turbo. Also, the same as the 3S beams engine, except no vvti. So, all in all it should be basically the same application, someone else correct me if I'm wrong though.

Drop a 4agze supercharged engine from a JDM levin, it will drop right in to your car plus you can use your tranny. They are about 170hp stock.
